Have a 2001 Lincoln LS v8 with 94,000 miles on it. I came back from a 3 week vacation and my car was turning but not staying on. it wouldnt idol or rev. Almost like it wasn't getting enough gas. I changed the fuel filter, bought a brand new battery and a fuel pump FUSE not the pump itself and and now the car will start and rev but not normally and once i take my foot off the gas pedal it dies, has anyone had this happen before? Do you think it really is the fuel pump. I'm just reluctant to get that fixed because its a 600$ fix and my battery light comes on after it dies. I have a feeling its a battery problem.

EGR Valve-- on the loaded conditions, such as 40mph and approaching a slight hill --Bucking,confused shifts
ETC-- Electronic Throttle Control (TPS-Sensor) Both are probably shot and while the coils may be good now, they won't be in a few months.
You can replace the TPS yourself without replacing the whole Throttle Body as the dealer does for 650.00 The TPS is $60 on Amazon and $75 at auto part store. Amazon is the only place to get an original Motorcraft EGR at around $79. Unplug the vacuum hoses on EGR and plug. Then drive to see if some of this issues go away. Clear codes by disconnecting the battery about one minute. Any relearn stratagy will be better than you have now. Been there done that.

Please don't pump the gas pedal. It is doing absolutely nothing. The TPS is a potentiometer and sends info to the ECM.
The fuel tank is underneath the car, between the rear seat and the trunk.
Change the fuel-filter first, then if there is no change then you need to run a test to see what the fuel-line pressure is. If it is below 33psi then you may have a leak, a defective fuel-pump, or fuel regulator.
