Headlights go out while driving

92 Volvo 240 Wagon. Headlights go out on low beam while driving at night but not when brights are on. Have to click switch back and forth to get them to turn back on. End up driving around with high beams on.

You need to check the headlight relay to see if it is still good. Parts store can tell you where it should be and what the part number is when you find it. A good shop will be able to test it. I have found that Volvo likes to play hide the relay under the dash so it's hard to say for sure where it will be.

How do i adjust my headlights in my 2004 vovlo xc70

If you look just behind the headlight glass from the top, you will see two holes with 7mm hex head screws. These will adjust your headlights up, down, left and right.

I have an 04 passat wagon. Tonight the headlights would not come on (only the fog lights or the brights). Had my oil changed yesterday and don't know if maybe they pulled a fuse or something? Any idea...

Your second low beam may have burned out last night (that is, you were running on one headlight for a while).

Buy a new headlight (you may have never changed the headlights on a 2004. If you have changed them in the past 3 or 4 years, my solutions is likely wrong.

Does this model use a 4 headlight bright system? I have 2 low beam lights but when I put on the bright lights the 2 low beam lights go out and only the 2 bright lights stay on.

I think that many 1990s and even some 1980s GM vehicles with seemingly 4 headlight systems actually use only 2 at a time.

My 1990 Oldsmobile Cutlass Calais, for instance, had 2 high beams that went on independently of the 2 low beam lights when switched with the turn signal lever.

In the 1970s the GM vehicles had 4 headlight systems where all 4 headlights would go on, but they used sealed beams rather than the capsule lights that are used nowadays.

For instance, our 1976 Cadillac Seville has a 4 headlight system that lights up 4 headlights on the high beam mode.

Good luck on seeing at night with the current set up.
