2006 Tahoe Z71 4WD driver info center is often slow to display, sometimes for several minutes, including other indicator lights (seat heater) and dash lights as well as radio etc. Very problematic at night. It has always finally come on so far, but I'm wondering if there is a test or something, and what controls the display? Seems most prevalent during cold weather. Thanks
The computer BCM and PCM and sensors are responsible for readout.... Check your car battery and charging system first. Computers work on voltage data and senor input. Low or unsteady voltage can effect input and output information and the computers timely control of several automobile functions. It can be problematic at night as headlights pull alot of voltage.

You will need to replace your driver side temp actuator. It is most likely sticking or over travelling. It is located under the dash directly below the a/c control head. It is bolted to the a/c box upside down with two small bolts. Let me know if i can help more.

Its more then likely the temp door broken or temp door motor broken/stuck. There is 2-3 of these motors under the dash on the side of the evap/heater core box. Some require extensive labor to replace, good luck

HVAC control head problem or it is the air Temp Control Valve problem. THe control head is the one with the buttons and knobs and the control vavle is located on the HVAC carrier assembly underneath dashboard (two of them one on left and one on right in center). This is a job for someone who has knowledge of HVAC and electrical on a GM vehicle.
