A lot of people don't know that the windshield washer fluid system on these sonatas doesn't work by pushing the button on the side of the steering wheel handle. You have to grab the handle and pull it towards you, the driver. Just pushing in the button on the end only makes the windshield wipers swipe across once to remove any debris on the windshield. This can be confusing for many.

Is your wiper fluid level good?Look for leaks at pump,it's connected to container, also check your hoses leaving pump to windshield, could be loose or binding.

Yes the wiper fluid resevoir is full. There is no noise as is usual when I try to engage the dispenser motor and no fluid comes out, but the wipers move.

Sounds like a possible bad washer pump or clogged line, washer pump could have blown a fuse as well .have someone check to see if it has a fuse and try that first.

It sounds as though the switch in the drivers door is bad or you have a possible bad connection in the harness.
For the washer fluid, check the tank and hose for leaks. The hose may be dry rotted. It may be easy to spot the leak if you observer both the tank and hose while someone activates the washer
