Volvo v40 door window does not operate

It's your built in security alarm , have you changed the battery lately ? The procedure to reset it is: Unlock drivers door with key, then use key fob in unlock door mode, put key in ignition switch, foot on brake , transmission in park or neutral and clutch depressed (If applicable )

How to read an use a wiring diagram ? Do you know there are two side to a electrical circuit ? B+ voltage an a ground side . Plus there is electronic control modules and class 2 serial data network involved . When you push the switch for a window othen then drivers window on the drivers door . a class 2 message is sent to the other doors modules . The correct module will then open it's window .

think it just pops out and has a failure so its a new one as its not realy repairable as such although i always have a go ,it might just be the multiplug needs the contacts cleaning and maybe crimping up a bit .bit or easy start type engine starter stuff sprayed inside the switch then it might work .if your lucky ? and you pray to the right god of the day

I had to replace the motor in the door. They are available on-line and cost less.

This sounds to me like you may have a bad master switch. Everything with the windows goes back to the master switch before it will work.

check to see if has jump tracks

2 things 1) safety lock is illegal to remove and just deactivates rear window switches, what happens when u sell car? 2) windows may not be designed to go all the way down, eq track is not long enough to go all way down

what year is this car 97 cant be correct,what state requires brake pressure test?/get a second test done some where else unless this car pulls or you have noticed a problem/or replace the left rear caliper if you beleave the test are correct

Yes it will,swap them out then you will know if the switch is bad.
