SOURCE: 1996 4.0 Range Rover won't unlock

This car is in super lock mode... when you press remote 2times to lock or when you lock with remote and try to unlock using key manually.

there is a 4 digit number to open the door, its like opening a safe, starting from the left(key in car door) it goes L/R/L/R. so if number code is 1234..... left 1, right 2, left 3, right 4.

or if this too troublesome you can ask landrover dealer to remove the KEYCODE.

happy trying.....

SOURCE: central locking not working

There are 2 possibilities. First, if you have the EKA code, this is the emergency key access code, a 4 digit number. You must lock down the car including windows and then with the key enter the code using the door lock on the drivers side. Note that if you miss with the code 3 times, then you will have to wait about half an hour to let the system reset, before trying again. Check your vehicle service books to find the code, maybe on a seperatre card. The only other option is to recdover the car to an authorised dealer that can plug in the tester to reset the system.
Hope this helps

SOURCE: doors will not open using remote or disarm alarm.

You must enter the system using the EKA code, it will written in the service book how to activate the EKA. If you dont have the EKA code, you will have to take the car to the dealer to reset the system and give you the code. hope that helps

Remote key

Yes - Sometimes when the battery is replaced the key program can be corrupted. It would be a starting point to have the key reprogrammed just to eliminate it as a source of trouble.

Central locking not operaiting

Was the car battery disconnected before this central locking problem. Also is the central locking system operated by remote. If yes, then is the remote battery new or old.If the battery in remote is old then try with new battery. Also if the central locking is controlled by a push button in the car then it can be the problem with push button switch .The switch on driver side is got short. It has to be checked with meter to confirm the fault.Apply a direct 12 volt external battery to the switch and check if the central locking is getting done. Also confirm if you can lock the doors manually by using a car key.If you are not able to lock the door with key manually then its faulty door latch. But if the door lock and unlock manually with out any problem then this problem is related to central locking switch or the remote.

My remote key will not open the doors to my Ford Falcon el 1998 sedan. It will now and then but have a hard time trying to locate the sensor. I have a brand new battery in it. Do I need a new one?

is the light flashing hard on the remote when you push it? the sensor should be located in the drivers door where the actual actuator that opens the lock is. most of the time its the contacts in the remote, may need to bend the prongs in and file them a little to help the contact from the battery

Programming keyless remote

2003-04 Mazda 6 REMOTE PROGRAMMING

Step 1: Open drivers door and leave open.

Step 2: Lock and unlock the driver’s door using the power door lock switch on the door.

Step 3: Insert key into the ignition.

Step 4: Turn key to on position and return to off position. (IMPORTANT - use ON position NOT ACC position). Do this 3 times within 10 seconds. Leave key in the ignition.

Step 5: Open and close the driver’s door 3 times. (Door should be left open after this step).

Step 6: ECU should respond by locking and unlocking the doors.

Step 7: Press any button on remote #1 twice. ECU responds by locking and unlocking the car doors.

Step 8: Press any button on remote #2 (etc.) twice. Each time the ECU will respond by locking & unlocking the doors.

Step 9: Remove the key from the ignition and the ECU will respond a final time with a series of door locks and unlocks. You're done!

Good Luck.

Car doors won't lock

Hi,
Have a '03 2.5 Premium Outback and same thing happened. Easy fix this one, it's a flat battery....inside the black case on the end of the key. go to your local Tandy or similar store and buy a CR 1620 battery. Then with a very fine jewelers phillips head screwdriver undo the small black screw at the base of the chrome key shaft. Then carefully and gently pry open the two halves of the black plastic part of the key. The round silver disc inside is the battery. Pry it out and put it in your pocket, (so you don't mix it up with the new one!!!!) and fit the new battery with the numbers etched in the battery facing down. Put the two halves back together, fit the screw back in (most important), then point it at your car. Wallah!
A new battery shouldnt cost anymare than a few bucks, and do both key remote's at the same time, regardless of use, because the batteries are the same age.
Regards

Paul
