Rotating cam-like piece inside latch is stuck, blocking the door from closing

Hi, I have a 2002 Chrysler voyager (UK) which had the same problem with the drivers window. This issue went on for over 2 years, and I even bought new window runners from the US but still had issues! I have now fixed the problem. The bushes in the window motor had worn to a degree that contact got weaker until no contact was being made at all. I stripped the moter down (easier than I thought) and replaced the brushes at a cost of aroung £5 ($8), now the window is functioning better than it did when I bought at 2 years old, plus I did the same to the passanger window and that improved too. I hope this helps, if you require further info on stripping the motor and removing/replacing it please let me know. ([email protected])

sounds like the latch is broken or the latch catch is out of alignment. you can try and spray some teflon or silicone based lube on the latch and see if it is just sticking -- some lube goes along way on moving parts. also make sure the door is lining up proper and not hitting anywhere on the frame.
but I would try the lube first,, and then look into possibly replacing the latch.

sounds like one of the door switches have come loose and causing it to earth out and activate the interior lights while driving which will also activate the chime.

If you mean the rear liftgate, the latch may be broken.
You may have to take the inside panel off to gain access to the latch.
