I own a 2007 kia sorento lx. On cold start the engine revs to 2000 rpm than settles to 1500 rpm and when warm ends up at 650rpm. It doesnt clime to 2000 slowly, its like wide open and when it hits 2000 it stays there for about 3-4 seconds and starts to drop. I would hate to own one of these cars up north where the start up temp could be like twenth below zero. I dont know how the bottom end can handle the lack of oil and the forces applyed to the timing belt with such a high start rev. I have talked to the kia service, and they say thats the way it is.(if it was bad for the engine we wouldnt go for the 100k eng.)
