Interior lights,and doorstep lights fuses

These lights stay on and are draining my battery to the point I have to constantly jumpstart the car. The battery has been tested recently and gets full power. But I'm told that there may be a ground problem. For the meanwhile I'd like to know which fuses to pull to temporarily fix this problem for I am unable to afford a mechanic to do an electrical fix. Which I know will be costly. Thank You!

Sounds like you have a door ajar switch bad on one of the doors. start vehicle and close all doors and liftgate make sore the back glass on liftgate is closed. now look for a door ajar alert. if the alert is thare then one of the door ajar switches is bad. if this dont help then open each door and spray a lubricant called PB BLASTER in the latch assembley on each door then open and close each door about 10 to 15 times, this will usally free up the switch that is stuck.PB BLASTER is available at your local auto parts store. soak the latches pretty good when doing this as to make sure it reaches the switch.the fuse to the running board lights is under hood behind the power distrabution box. it should have a cover on it , thare are about 6 fuses in this box the one to the running boards is a 10 amp color red just pull each red fuse till lights go out.

The radio fuse is in the fuse panel inside under the left side of the dash. It is marked on the fuse cover as Radio, clock. If the battery drains down fast, like overnight there is another problem, sometimes aftermarket alarm systems will drain the battery down. Check for any lights that may be staying on like the stop lights or interior lights.

Change battery and alternator but 08 Silverado battery goes dead after turning off
You have a current drain in your system. Using an ammeter identify the amount of drain. then pull fuses one by one until the drain disappears. Now you have the circuit that is responsible for draining your battery. You have to check all of the peripherals on that line.

Interior lights stay on and drivers door won't lock
Have you tried spraying the door switches with wd40 type spray or changing the door switch , Either the switch sticks or the wiring may fray after a bit of time.causing the wire to splay out and touch the inner bodywork causing a constant live feed . If not you could simply remove the interior light fuse , so it is not a constant live feed draining your battery until you can get an auto electrical place to look at it . It could also be whaer getting into the system somewhere causing a constant feed. Check the Fuse box.

No radio, no interior light,
Is the clock showing the correct time? If not,the memory was dumped and the clock/radio must be re-coded to work,again.
If the battery light is ON,the main 100 AMP fuse is blown.it won't charge the battery.
Interior light? probably a blown fuse.

Interior lights will not go off when locking the car
Seems from just a little research that this is a major problem with several years of jeeps having the same issues. Most responses i seen point to an electrical problem with the PCI Bus.
A quick fix in which I have seen several positive responses, is to disconnect the negative cable from battery and leave disconnected for approx. 10 minutes then reconnect.
Hopefully this will give you at least some short term relief.

1996 blazer battery draining
i had this problem on my 96 blazer, it turned out to be the timer that turns off the interior lights after 15 seconds, it would turn off the lights but not all the way, it would sit and drain the battery.. an easy way to test for an open circuit yourself:
  • Connect one end of the test light to the negative terminal of the battery, and the other end of the test light to the end of the negative battery cable, so that the light is now "inserted" into the circuit between the cable and the battery.
  • Step 3 Check the intensity of the test light. A faint glow is normal and indicative of the small current used to power the cars computer and clock. A bright glow means you have a significant battery drain that needs to be repaired.
  • Step 4 Leave the test light in place, and begin to remove fuses one at a time from the fuse panel. Check the test light after you remove each one. If the light is on, replace the fuse and move on to the next one.
  • Step 5 Pinpoint the circuit that is causing the battery drain when you pull a fuse and the test light goes out.

    Interior lights remain on after doors are closed causing battery to drain overnight. When fuse is removed lights go of and battery stays charged.
    Check to be sure interior lights are turn off when you are in the vehical.If so check the interior light switches on the doors for proper opperation.

    i actually had this same problem. I took the fuse out and had no interior lights for awhile till i tried a fuse with a lower amp in it, now it works great!
