Volvo C70 - The drivers door window is not operating up or down though you can hear a brief noise as though something is happening. It will also not go down when using the all windows switch or when roof goes down either, the drivers side rear window will work fine with its own switch, but not when utilising the all windows switch.

SOURCE: 1998 volvo c70 drivers side,

I have replaced many of these, and it is a very difficult job. There are many steps you need to take as you are removing and re-installing the new window regulator that are crucial for a properly adjusted and operable window. Find someone who has experience replacing these or you will have wind and water leaks, and the door will not open or close like it should. Sorry to be a downer, but this is the reality of your situation.

SOURCE: Volvo V40 Driver side electric window . Goes down

sounds like a missing tooth or stripped gear on the motor or moon gear on the regulator, the door will have to be taken apart and the regulator or motor replaced. If you can grab the top of the glass with your fingers GENTLY pull up while pressing the switch. it may catch another tooth and go up. (**Do not use pliers or any other tool to grab the glass**)

Rear right window won't go all the way up. it happened just this morning. is there something i can do without having to take it in?

It sounds to me like the window regulator be have gone bad. Do you hear any grinding noise when the window is going up or down? If yes, the sound is the metal cables that are crossed inside the door. Second problem is that the window is jammed in the track. This is also another sign of a window regulator. Third is that the power window motor is on it's way out. I would have to guess window regulator though. Hope this helps

Wind noise

Alan,

These windows are prone to air/water leakage, especially if the window regulator has been removed or replaced. There are no less than 8 adjustments that need to be performed in a specific order to achieve a tight seal, and to have the door open and close properly. I'm sorry I can't even start to tell you how to do these adjustments in this type of forum. I suggest you try and find a shop that has experience with this type of repair on your vehicle.
