My truck ran out of gas and wont start now, I put gas in, changed fuel filter and still nothing. I did find the fuel pump fuse to be blown, changed it, boosted it, it cranked and almost rolled over but still wont start? So that tells me that the fuel pump is indeed working but cant figure out why it wont start? I switched the relay out with the horn and then checked the horn and it's working just fine. I am now on the net again looking for answers, someone said to check the injector fuse and relay, but I don't know where to find it?
Do you hear the fuel pump running on the prime cycle (when you turn on the key) (runs for 3 seconds) or when you have oil pressure?Have someone listen back by the tank for the wrrrrr.If you do have to change the fuel pump,make your life easy and just tilt up (lift) the pickup box from the drivers side to access the fuel pump.Takes 20 minutes to change it that way.

Sounds like the fuel pump is shorted.

The inline fuel pump fuse on the passenger side firewall is good? Are you jumping it with 12 volts at the test lead or the fuse?

That is your EDU unit it has to be fitted back to get a good ground connection.

fuel pump? carb? or throttle body? if injected the fuel rail should have a test point it will look kinda like a tire valve may have 15-40 psi under it auto places like auto zone and others rent kits for testing turn key forward listen to hear the pump in tank if injected push the valve in with a pen possible but becareful not to get in the way of gas use rag to catch it if nothing comes out most likely fuel pump but you will have to try to start the vehicle before attempting this raw check as line pressure falls off naturely in 10 min or so

Check your ECM fuse. There should be 2 fuses for your ECM. It's the ECM that controls the function of the fuel pump. Good luck friend and it's also common for the wire harness from the frame to the fuel pump to go bad due to corrosion from the bad weather we get in the winter and rainy spring and fall.
