The code is for a failed throttle control motor or circuit.
You might check to see if the throttle control is plugged in, otherwise you may need a shop manual to test the component.

SOURCE: 2001 ford windstar code P0340 cam shaft sensor malfunction

You most likely have a 3.8 liter motor. You need to have a obd-2 diagnostic performed. Pep boys, Autozone, Aamco etc. can do this. (Ford also, but costly). If cam sensor failing, code will be stored in e.c.m, and data stream will prove out. The cam sensor failure is common on fords and they are usally available aftermarket (save a few dollars over O.E.M.) . If there is another problem, the diagnostic will help determine. Windstars are also prone to fuel pump failures and ignition switch problems.

it is possable/likely a bad ECTS (engine coolant tep. sensor), this can cause the injectors to allow to much fuel into cylinders and cause a low compression and or flooding situation, good luck, marty

It sounds like your new crank sensor is defective. It should be under warranty.

SOURCE: i have a 2004 kia rio manual trans. it will crank

Sounds like most of Kia problems...timing belt !
BEWARE that this is an "Interference Engine", meaning the valves and pistons "interfere" with each other and more than likely serious damage has already occurred.
If this is in fact the case engine will need to be rebuilt or replaced.
Good Luck!

2001 Lexus IS300. If my ECU actually provided codes to obd2 scanner, can the ECU still be bad?

Yes, it is possible for the ECU to be bad even if it is still providing codes to the OBD2 scanner. The ECU is a complex electronic device and it is possible for one or more of its internal components to fail without affecting its ability to communicate with the OBD2 scanner. In your case, the fact that the codes went away after replacing the #35 fuse and the IAC motor suggests that those were the underlying problems causing the "crank but no start" condition. However, the fact that the car still won't start after those repairs indicates that there is another problem, and it is possible that the ECU is at fault. To be sure, you would need to take the car to a qualified mechanic and have them perform a more thorough diagnosis. The mechanic may be able to test the ECU to see if it is functioning properly. If the ECU is found to be bad, it will need to be replaced. Here are some other possible causes of the "crank but no start" condition in your Lexus IS300: Faulty fuel pump Faulty spark plugs Faulty ignition coil Faulty camshaft or crankshaft sensor Low compression in one or more cylinders Clogged fuel filter Restriction in the air intake system If the mechanic is unable to find any other problems, then the ECU may indeed be the culprit. However, it is important to rule out all other possibilities before replacing the ECU, as it can be a costly repair.

1998 chevy s10 driving along and engine shut down.after sitting 10 min.it started but was rough.went 100.ft and it shut off again.sat for a while.it started and ran a couple miles like nothing was ever...

if it shuts off while driving and will not start back up for at least 10 minutes, then it may be the crank sensor doing this. is check engine light on! if so get it scanned to find problem code. if no scanner, auto-zone will scan for free. if light is on. CPS symtoms are: car dies and won't re-start till it cools down, or won't start at all. good-day ! crank sensor timing will be out of sync. it controls timing and sends info to pcm.

2000 Mercedes CLK..I think it is a vapor lock problem..car starts as usual but 5-7 minutes later it just shuts down..happened in traffic..so I dont dare to drive it..Afterwards it doesnt start unril...

Sounds like the crankshaft position sensor needs to be replaced. They are a common problem with the Mercedes. That sensor is the one that the engine control module looks at to see if the engine is running. When they get hot and stop producing a signal the engine control module thinks the engine is not running and shuts of the fuel. After waiting awhile they cool down and the vehicle will start up again. I've changed many of them when I worked at the dealer. Tricky part is when there working and the car is running there will be no check engine light on or code stored. Usually will only have the code when the car won't start. Let me know what you end up finding out on it but that would be the first place to look and probably the cheapest.
