Where is the 2-3 shift solenoid located on the 2004 pontiac montana and how much is the replacement part and repair job

The solenoid is inside the valve body, If you remove the pan, the filter, you are looking at the valve body. You can remove it, replace the solenoid, but it is no guarantee that it will fix the problem. It could be a number of things, lost ground, low fluid. the part is about $75, and the repair is fairly simple, but a tranny shop will tell you it is shot, you need a rebuild, and they want $1400 . So, if you know someone who can change the fluid, they can change the solenoid. But remember, it is no guarantee. i just did mine, didn't work. Hope this helps.

2006 Pontiac Montana wont start after replacing battery. Engine cranks as soon a key is moved from off, then continue to crank even after removing the key.

Sounds like your starter solenoid is stuck in the on position if you can get down there and have some one hook the battery on, hit the starter with a hammer some time this will disengage the starter.

Yes it is hard to change. It is in the side cover of the transmission. The transmission will need to be removed to replace it.
