I worked for FORD MOTOR Co. dealer for 3 yrs I never heard of what your describing. Fuel pump modal is in the tank, fuel filter is along the frame, The "driver" is the pcm, turns on fuel pump.

I stand corrected, you are right. It should be located on a cross brace above the spare tire to the front of truck.

Its located in the back on the driver's side. Its a little box behind the rear wheel. Its that easy. Just find it and replace it. But if you drive a 2003 Navigator then ur just screwed, because i have NO CLUE where the hell they put it, on a 2004 its in the rear drivers side tire well. On a 03 its just empty space, and its nowhere to be found, and nop information or diagrams exist.

SOURCE: fuel filter location

No, it is in front of the fuel tank right behind the tranny crossmember support somewhat hidden by a metal cover. Easy to see if you just look near the middle of the truck - under the where a back seat would be if you have the 4-door model.

Their should be a bleed valve on the fuel rail if it has injecters. the tank is held on with two strapes that have bolts on one side.

[email protected] pump not working

Did you check the Fuel Inertia Switch in the passenger side kick panel ?

If you did, and it is not tripped, might want to check the FPDM ( Fuel Pump Driver Module ) to see if it has corrosion built up behind it, and cracked the PC board.

Here is what mine looked like on my 2006 ( salt in winters )
sscullys_144.jpg

This is the wide picture showing location.

The FPDM is mounted to the cross member, just in front and above the spare tire under the rear of the truck ( drop the spare tire to see it ) .. This picture is taken from the rear bumper, facing the front of the truck. The cable on the right is the spare tire lift and the tire on the left is the driver's side rear tire.

The new PFDM has stand offs to stop corrosion from cracking the module

Check the P/N to make sure there are no new revisions

Fuel pump relay and fuze location for 2004 F150 5.4

For the new body style F-150 the fuel pump relay is not a serviceable item, it is built into the fuse panel.
The fuse is fuse 34 ( only for 04 & 05 MYs ) which is called Fuel injectors in the 04 Owners Manual.

The other items
1. Fuel Inertia switch ( assume you checked this, but it was not called out )
2. Teh Fuel Pump Driver Module ( FPDM ) on the cross member under the back of the truck. You need to drop the spare to see it.
There is a TSB on this, where corrosion can build up between the aluminum FPDM case and the steel cross member, causing the module to crack.
Here is what mine looked like before I changed it on my 2006
e03c079.jpg
The cable is the spare tire lift cable and the picture is facing the front of teh truck, the tire is the driver's side rear tire.

2006 Ford F150. While driving periodicaly truck will jolt as if it is stalling. After a couple of seconds it will pass and driving is normal. It has happend twice over 3 weeks. I never let the tank get...

Start by checking the Fuel Pump Driver Module, which is located on the cross member above the spare tire. ( this is taken from the rear of the truck, the cable is the spare tire winch ).

Could be the FPDM is on its way out, and you are experiencing the loss of power to the fuel pump.

The FPDM takes the input from the PCM, the Fuel Inertia switch ( passenger side kick panel ) to run the fuel pump. The fuse is Fuse #9 to the Fuel Pump Relay ( built into the fuse panel, not an easy user servicable item ) to the fuel inertia switch to the Fuel pump Driver Module ( the route for the power ).
