SOURCE: 2002 Hyundai Accent Problem

first thing i need to know is did the timing belt break?
second is are you sure you aligned the timing marks and after the belt tensioner was tight you rechecked to make sure the timing stayed where you had it.
next step would be a compression check to if a valve was bent whenchanging the belt
i have seen this happen and this engine is an interferance engine.
later paul

There a lot of cuses for this but you need to scan the vehicule before to know what sensor is having troubles, if is too much expensive the scan in your city consider to buy one. I see in ebay a lot of types of OBD2 scanners for $25-30!

DID THE BELT BREAK AND THEN IT WAS CHANGED. If so then you may have bent valve. IF NOT then vehicle may be timed wrong. Here is a diagram of your timing marks, http://www.2carpros.com/car_repair_information/tec_info/2002/hyundai/accent/2002_hyundai_accent_timing_belt_diagram_marks.htm contact if you need more help. SOURCE: 2001 Hyundai Accent loses power or stalls

There is a sensor (dont exactly remember witch 1) That is related with the ECM Motor That Gets The car Just Few Little rpms more wen you turn to encounter the HP needed for the powersteering pomp to be able to assist you turning.. i think its the Knock Sensor Not Sure You should look that up seriously cuz ive seen that kind of problem before, it was the sensor in default reading BUT you SHOULD be able to see the problem with OBD2 diagnostic, if not ask your mecanic to test the resistance of the sensor following the specs of the manufacturer

good luck

What would cause the two exhaust manifold pipes on the passenger side to glow red hot the ones on the driver side does not get red hot 2000 Mitsubishi galant 2 4

Try checking for a restriction in the system. possibly the catalytic converter. are the pipes before the muffler? you can smack your catalytic converter with a dead blow hammer a few times before you start the engine. you will hear a sound similar to breaking glass from inside the converter it's carbon build up. Start the engine and rev it up a little. If it was constricted the carbon you broke loose will blow on out. If nothing is restricted in exhaust you may have a bad exhaust valve on that side.

1994 Buick LeSabre does not want to take gas and exhaust manifold gets red hot

If you've checked your coolant and the gas is good it is likely the timing is off drastically and it needs fixed. I don't remember if that car has a chain or belt. I know most manufacturers change intervals on timing belts run from 60-90 thousand miles.Good luck those are nice cars when they are running well.

My serpentine belt broke drove car 30 miles home without belt, got a new belt put it on cranked car up took for test drive got back opened hood realised the exhaust manifold was red hot. Turned A/c off...

  • Well, that belt drives everything including the water pump. When the belt broke and you drove it no coolant circulated and the exhaust glowed from overheating. A red glowing manifold usually only happens from excessive heat caused from modified engines. But in this case this is almost surely what happened. You are lucky you did not blow your engine. Park it and let it cool down for a few hours.

My exhaust is red hot, just replaced the cat and entire exhaust and the engine is running rough

a few things i can think of as this happen to me on my ford , somebody left a rag in exhaust pipe before refitting , funnily enough this has happened , but i think if vacume hoses are incorrectly fitted this can cause this also , also check timing , also the exhaust gas return pipe may have fault at the inlet manifold regulator , which is where the pipe comes of the inlet manifold , check that also , sometime that valve is at fault .

hope this helps , good luck
