SOURCE: 1994 BMW 525 Battery

Look on the passenger side at the firewall and fender junction.   In the attached picture, see at the lower left side.  You need to remove the black plastic battery cover about 9"x7" located there, then you'll be able to see how the battery restraint works if you need to remove.
The title says 1994 525, and this is where tha battery is for '94, probably in the same place '91, if not look for a 10"x7" plastic cover elsewhere in the engine compartment.

SOURCE: code needed for Pioneer radio serial number PNB0125214

Take your radio out (Using an Allen wrench) there are 2 little doors on either side of your radio. Back out the recessed allen head screws till it stops and withdraw the radio out. Disconnect the radio wiring(no need to worry they only fit one way) take the radio to the dealer with your Reg. or title and ask the service advisor for the code. (they might try to charge you for the code. But just complain and say" that you have had many bmw and you've been comming to the dealer for parts for years now and it that how you treat me"!) that should get you the code (If you are a woman then wear something tight & Skimpy) same effect. put the radio back in and input the code...

You should be good to go.

SOURCE: BMW Z3 WRONG UNLOCK RADIO CODE HOW TO GET THE RIGHT ONE

If the radio is displaying code wait, or wait, then the ignition and radio must remain on for 1hour. I would contact a dealer within the USA and provide them with your radio serial number. The serial number can be displayed in the radio by pressing and holding down the "M" button while turning on the ignition.

SOURCE: BMW 323is Coupe Radio Code

you'll need to take your VIN and the radio serial number (located on the back of the radio) and maybe even one of the keys to a BMW dealer and they will look it up for you.

and i am assuming you looked in your original paperwork/owner's manual and its not there, right?

1994 BMW 525 radio displays "CODE WAIT" after I put in the code numbers

You need to wait 1 hour before attempting to put the code in. Either the ignition needs to stay on 1 hour or drive it for 1 hour. If they key is turned off before then, you will need to start again.

My radio in my 1994 540i bmw is off beacuse i didn't put the code in soon enough, what do i do?

Is the problem that you did not put in the code soon enough, or that you tried three wrong codes and locked it out? I don't think there is a time limit, but all of us have punched in wrong codes and locked out our radios before. If the display says WAIT, you tried three wrong codes.
If it is locked out, you have to drive for an hour with the radio turned on before it will let you try again. If you disconnect the battery during that hour, you just reset the 1-hour timer back to zero so you have to wait longer.

My 1995 bmw 525 that i just purchased has a locked radio. can i unlock it?serial number f31077848b

call that number in to the dealer, they have the code.

may have to wait 1.5hrs with key on ACC if you've tried and entered one wrong code.

do you have your very own BMW mechanic? If not, they won't give you the code and act real snooty to you. You can give them money for them so assign you a mechanic.

Need to know how to program the code in to my 1993 bmw 740 I

The BMW anti-theft radio circuitry is designed to essentially render your radio unsalable if it is stolen. If the radio is subsequently electrically reconnected, it will not operate until a five-digit security code assigned to your radio is entered. The anti-theft features and operation are as follows:

  1. After the ignition key is removed, the red "anti-theft" LED will continuously flash, drawing attention to this feature.
  2. Should anyone, such as a thief, touch any push-button on the radio after the key is removed, the anti-theft inscription will flash and a warning tone will sound for 5 minutes or until the ignition is turned ON .
  3. Should the voltage supply to the radio drop below 5 volts due to a dead battery, electrical repairs, or radio removal (such as theft), the radio will not function when voltage is restored. The word "code" will show in the display only.
  4. The proper 5-digit code shown on the TWO CARDS SUPPLIED TO YOU must then be entered (using the proper number radio push-button selectors in the bottom row) when the radio is on and the display shows "code". If the correct code is not entered in three successive tries , the radio will not accept entry until the radio has been left on for one hour with the ignition ON . IMPORTANT: When entering 5-digit code number, be sure to complete sequence number of that 5-digit code. For example: Code No. sequence is 43215 and you mistakenly enter 42 instead of 3, continue the code number sequence of 215 to complete that entry. The radio will not operate and "code" will reappear in the display. Re-enter the correct number sequence of 43215 and operation of the radio will continue. The likelihood of guessing the correct code is extremely remote. The radio is, therefore, unsalable to a thief. NOTE: If an audible beep is heard while entering the 5-digit code, STOP immediately ! Begin entering the code again, starting with the first number of the 5-digit code.
  5. The code card should be placed in your wallet, or with the vehicle title papers for security as deemed necessary by your individual needs.
  6. Should radio or electrical repairs become necessary, please give the repairing facility the radio code number. If you do not, only authorized BMW dealer personnel can obtain the code from BMW.
  7. Should you lose your code cards, contact the nearest BMW dealer who will then obtain your code from BMW. You may be charged for removal of the radio to ascertain the radio chassis number.
  8. WARNING: FOR YOUR PROTECTION, CODES WILL NOT BE GIVEN OUT TO ANYONE UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES OTHER THAN AUTHORIZED BMW DEALER PERSONNEL AFTER PROOF OF VEHICLE OWNERSHIP AND PROPER IDENTIFICATION IS ESTABLISHED.
  9. Install the 2 enclosed warning decals in accordance with motor vehicle regulations.

Code for head unit

Hello There

That normally happens when you enter the wrong code too many times. when you get the wait on the screen, that normally means you need to wait for a certain amout of time with the radio turned on and then it will come up asking for a code, each time you enter the wrong code after this will mean longer and longer wait times.

Hope this helps.

If my answer has helped you, please rayte me on Fixya.

Many Thanks
