Bleeding brakes wheel sequence for 2003 Alero

  • Anonymous Dec 05, 2012

Thanks CHris... My issue was no matter where I searched for the sequence for this year and make, I got other makes that said start front, and although I'd not bled breaks in a while I recall the furthest form the master (Back right, back left, front right, front left). Thanks for your help buddy!

I called a dealership service department to get that sequence. Then instead of getting help I rigged a jar and lid by drilling a hole for a ft hose to fit blead valve, another small hole to allow the air to get out. With one end in the jar below fluid level, the other on the bleeder, I was able to bleed them alone... Did the above sequence 2 times, bleeding each line twice and all done.. Cool trick!

Bleed the back brakes first until you get clear brake fluid then you bleed the front brakes, make sure you keep the brake master cylinder topped up so you don't get air into the brake lines..

SOURCE: Bleeding the brakes after new pads are installed...

On the backside of the brake backing plate there is a bleeder valve that looks more like a grease fitting. Someone needs to be in the vehicle with motor running, pump the brake twice and hold pedal down on the third pump while another person takes a small wrench or socket and loosens the bleeder valve, if no fluid comes out or it spurts, tighten the valve and repeat process until nothing but fluid comes out, do the same for the other wheel, keeping check on the fluid level in the master cylinder at the booster ( if equipped)

SOURCE: 2000 dodge status non and I have brake pressure at

When you do a brake job with drums. You have to adjust the brakes by hand the first time. It doesn't hurt to put a little lude on the slack adjusters. Also if your reusing the brake drums, you need to grind or file the lip off the edge of the drum. this will throw off the adjustment.

SOURCE: my brakes go to the floor and i need to know the

always start with the back passenger wheel, then back drivers wheel, then front passenger, last front drivers wheel, there should be a bleeder valve on each caliper, probably a 3/8 or 5/16 open end wrench, have someone pump the brakes up tight and hold it, turn the bleeder valve open until the pedal goes to the floor and retighten before they let the pedal go or it will **** air back in, continue doing this until you get a stream of fluid, no bubbles should be in the fluid, dont forget to keep adding a little bit of brake fluid every so often during bleeding

What is the brake bleed sequence on a 2005 Toyota Tacoma

Standard is bleeding from the furthest wheel to the master cylinder. So, you first do the right rear wheel, then you do the driver side rear wheel, then move to the front passenger wheel and finally you do the front driver side.

Bleed brakes and will not hold aftet bleeding

You have to bleed the whole system in sequence. It is a two man job. you have air in the system. You must bleed each wheel starting with the wheel farthest from the master cylinder. then the next wheel that shares the same circuit then the next and the next. Each car has its own sequence to follow. front wheel drive cars bleed differently than rear wheel cars . You must keep the master cylinder full as you do this, as to not allow any more air to enter the system. If air has entered the ABS system it will have to be bleed as well .. You have to refer to a manual for your car.

Just replaced brake lines on 03 alero, bled brakes but still have none...why?

The vacuum booster (engine running) is telling you that you need to bleed them better.
Not bleeding them longer allows air to stay trapped in the lines and the air doesn't make much difference until the engine is providing vacuum boost to the brake system.

Remove the master cylinder filler cap. On the brake caliper open the bleed fitting one turn When the fluid starts to drip (one or two drops) all of the air is out. close and move to the next one.

How do you install a r front wheel bearing on a 2003 olds alero

Safely support the vehicle and remove the wheel. Unbolt the brake caliper and pad bracket. Leave the brake line connected and hang it off to the side (don't hang it from the brake hose). Remove the brake rotor and the axle nut (should be a 36mm. If your not using an impact gun, this should be removed with the wheel on if possible to stop it from spinning). Disconnect the wheel speed sensor and remove the three bolts securing the wheel bearing. The bearing could then be removed. It may require some persuasion with a hammer. Installation is reverse of removal.

Put new roders, brake pads, and calipers on 2002 Olds Alero. The brake peddle is really soft and goes almost all the way to the floor....Why is this? Car has 26,000 on it..

groan......master cylinder not brakes and rotors and what not. hopefully you kept all of you old stuff because there was probably nothing wrong with it. also, make sure that you do a realy good job bleading you break = air will cause the pedal to go down to the floor. also if you change the master cylinder, that you try and bleed most of the air out before you install it into your vehicle
