SOURCE: Removed & replaced dist. cap and rotor on 1993 S10 Blazer 4.3 V-6

The firing order for a Chevy s10 depends on which engine you have. 1.9L engine the firing order is: 1-3-4-2 . Distributor rotates counterclockwise. 2.0L engine the firing order is: 1-3-4-2 . Distributor rotates clockwise. 2.5L engine the firing order is: 1-3-4-2 . Distributor rotates clockwise. 2.8L engine the firing order is: 1-2-3-4-5-6 . Distributor rotates clockwise. 4.3L engine the firing order is: 1-6-5-4-3-2 . Distributor rotates clockwise.

SOURCE: 96 Cavalier gurgling noise and a little hard to start

to check level of training fluid warm car up and while engine is running check the dipstick to see if the fluid level is at the top of the area on the stick where the criss cross grooves are, it should say hot or full note wipe stick off at first pull out then recheck it after placing it back in and pulling it back out.
First was the spark plugs set right ?
and the gurgling noise could be a sign that the thermostat is sticking and its most likely the radiator fluid boiling back into the over flow tank if you pop the hood does it stink like radiator fluid and is the over flow tank boiling ?

What is making my 1999 blazer missing and i put spurk pugs and wire, distributor cap ,crack sensor why is it still missing

a faulty ignition module could be the problem. some vehicles have one for the whole system while others have multiples. you can test individual cylinders by first removing the fuel pump relay, then one at a time remove the spark plugs and ground it to the engine block while a helper hits the key. you should clearly be able to see a spark jump across the spark plug. you can also purchase a diagnostic tool which you hold over the wire while a helper turns the key and it reads the current in an inductive manner. if all cylinders are receiving spark then your timing may be out, in some newer (96 and up) vehicles fine tuning of the timing is achieved via ecm in conjunction with the ignition module and cam/crank sensors. in older and a few 96 and up vehicles timing is done solely by the clock position of the distributor. a timing gun can be used to establish correct timing (refer to owners manual/repair manual for proper advancement or retard of ignition timing)

in the event that you have a properly working and timed ignition its most likely you have a burnt valve or dead cylinder, a compression gauge is the best way of diagnosing these issues.

lastly vortec fuel injection systems are finicky about fuel pressure, incorrect fuel pressure will cause the vehicle to run rough, stall ect...most run right around 60psi you can test your system by hooking a test gauge up to your service port.

1.try checking the clearance in the spark plug if you have insufficient or more clearance you wont get spark check this.
2.check the wire coming to the spark plug.if power is not coming to spark plug there wil be discontinuity in the wire try replace it.

2000 chevy blazer starts sometimes and sometimes not. replaced starter, spark plugs and wires and fuel pump. still same problem. could it be the mass air flow meter? Jackie

Check for spark by removing one of the plug wires from a spark plug and installing one of your old plugs in the removed wire (leave the other end of the wire attached to the cap). Rest the exposed plug on an under-hood surface that will provide a sufficient ground and have some one turn over the engine. You should se a strong blue spark. We have seen some intermittent coil problems on your generation Blazer that would explain a lack of spark. Good luck!

Location of spark plugs on 4.3l v-6 in a 2001 chevy blazer

Chevy usually puts the spark plugs down below the exhaust manifold.
You usually have to do them by feel, or use a mirror.

My 96 chevy blazer has a code ''random 4 misfire'' only misses when in park or idleing at a light. is this and injector issue?

my 96 blazer would have random missfires.... sometimes more than one cylinder at a time... there are a few things to try.... 96 vortecs still used distributor caps... but they had such a high intensity spark that they were well noted for frying distributor caps and ignition coils... i would start there... also a few times i had to replace the crankshaft timing sensor.... it could be something as small as a spark plug wire... i would start with the ignition before spending money to check the fuel system

Will not start 96 blazer

Go back to basics. Check if you have spark. From the coil and the plugs. Check if you have fuel pressure, check if you have compression on all cylinders. If you have all three action should happen.
