Heater blower does not come on

please explain what you mean as a ford always has a good heater and also please explain what a 53 reg means as when i left the Uk it was a letter at the back of the number so a L was a 1972 last one i remember was a T 1978

cheeck heater fuse

if its not overheating your water is circulating and working normally
your heater core or rad could be airlocked open a top heater hose and fill slowly making sure no air in system run for a while then top up can take a while to clear the air
also make sure heater valve is operating

its the thermal fuse on the heater risistor, if you remove the blower motor from under the bonnet and remove the heater resistor you can then buy a 79p thermal fuse from maplins and solder it on i have done it on all my espaces

the blower is behind the glovebox u might need a new 1 or second hand 1

sounds like the bushins or brushes are going out in the blower motor, just replace the blower and problem will be gone.

i have a heater which work when it wants to or then go over a bump.... thats blower

Robynumber1 is correct, you have a blower motor resistor that needs to be replaced.
