SOURCE: replacing serpentine belt

Click on the following direct Link. It has the Serpentine Belt Diagram that you will need depending on your engine size (2.0L or 3.0L) and your options (AC/No AC ect.).
http://www.2carpros.com/car_repair_information/year/2001/make/mazda/model/tribute/2001_mazda_tribute_drive_belt_routing_diagram.htm

Standard Rules to Removal the Serpentine Belt with a Tensioner:
1. Find the Tensioner(s). (See Diagrams on Link)
2. Using a Serpentine Belt Tensioner Tool, Or Wrench OR Ratchet, Rotate/Move the Tensioner USING THE AVAILABLE NUT (on the Pulley or Arm Base) OR the OPENING (3/8ths or 1/2 inch square opening) rotating the Tensioner Pulley/Arm - moving it away from contact with the belt and towards the area where the belt is not in contact with the Tensioner Pulley. The Tensioner is spring loaded, and is hard to rotate/move.
3. Remove the loosened belt off one of the other more easily accessed Pulleys.
4. DO NOT quickly release the Tensioner, but gently allow the Tensioner to rest in its closed position.

Standard Rules for Installing the Serpentine Belt with Tensioners:
a. Pick a Pulley that is most easily accessed. This will usually be on top. This will be the last Pulley that the belt will go on.
b. Using the Diagram: Install the new Serpentine Belt on the remainder of the Pulleys....over, under, left right.
c. Using a Serpentine Belt Tensioner Tool or Wrench or Ratchet Tool: Rotate/Move the Tensioner Pulley/Arm "away" from Belt contact area on the Tensioner. This spring is pretty hard and with a new belt, it will be even harder to install. Rotate/Move this to as-close to the maximum allowed inorder to have enough slack in the belt to get it up and over the last pulley.
d. Using your other hand - Pull the Belt up and over the Last remaining Pulley.
e. Before releasing the pressure on the Tensioner, visually inspect the remainder Pulleys and the Belts' Positioning on them

SOURCE: check engine light is staying on on my 2004 mazda

hook the car up to a scan tool and see what kinds of codes that the computer is sending out. You can take it to autozone and get your car scanned for free. They will let you know of any codes that are in the system.

SOURCE: replaceing a radiator in a 2004 mazda tribute

Radiator
Removal & Installation
2002-2004 Ford Escapes should be filled with Motorcraft Premium Gold Engine Coolant or equivalent (yellow color). Always fill the cooling system with the same coolant that is present in the system. Do not mix coolant types.
NOTE: Do not add/mix orange-colored Motorcraft Specialty Orange Engine Coolant. Mixing coolants can degrade the coolant’s protection.
NOTE: The addition of Motorcraft Cooling System Stop Leak Pellets VC-6 darkens Motorcraft Premium Gold Engine Coolant from yellow to golden tan.
Used engine coolant should be disposed of in an appropriate manner. Follow your community’s regulations and standards for recycling and disposing of automotive fluids.
CAUTION
Never remove the pressure relief cap under any conditions while the engine is operating. Scalding coolant and steam will cause damage to the cooling system, engine and will result in personal injury. Wait until the engine has cooled. The coolant should be recovered in a clean container for reuse. If the coolant is contaminated, it must be recycled or disposed of correctly. Note that only about 80% of coolant capacity is recovered with the engine in the vehicle. Dirty, rusted or contaminated coolant requires replacement.

To Remove:

  1. With the engine and cooling system cold (ambient temperature), release the pressure in the cooling system by slowly turning the pressure relief cap one half turn counterclockwise. When the pressure is released, remove the pressure relief cap. Drain the cooling system. Both the 2.0L Zetec and 3.0L (4V) engines have drains at the bottom of the radiators.
  2. Raise and safely support the vehicle.
  3. Remove the lower splash shields.
  4. If equipped with a 2.0L Zetec engine, disconnect the lower radiator hose and the degas bottle return hose.
  5. If equipped with a 3.0L (4V) engine, disconnect the lower radiator hose, the high pressure transmission line (hose) and the degas return hose.
  6. Remove the lower center support bolt.
  7. Lower the vehicle.
  8. If equipped with a 2.0L Zetec engine, disconnect the remaining coolant hose connections.
  9. If equipped with a 3.0L (4V) engine, disconnect the transmission return line and the upper radiator hose and degas supply hose.
  10. On all vehicles, remove the fasteners and position the hood latch out of the way, then unbolt the center support. Remove the top two bolts holding the cooling fan to the radiator.
  11. Remove the upper radiator support brackets and remove the radiator from the vehicle.

SOURCE: Leaking windshield washer fluid resivour

I had a similar problem. My first thought was that the reservoir was leaking but there were no holes in it. Then I noticed that the fluid hose had come off the hose junction fitting (above the passenger side fender -- hard to reach without taking off the panels) and fluid was siphoning out. Later on the hose came off again, and so when I had it in the shop for some other maintenance I asked the guys to look at it. They told me there was a pressure problem with the reservoir pump which was causing the hose to disconnect. They changed out the pump and it's been working fine now.

Dealer said aluminum oil pan was becoming porous 2002 mazda tribu

Not likely. My 2001 Tribute developed a leak at the oil pan gasket about two years ago. I got the gasket replaced, but it was expensive. I would take it to another shop and get a second opinion.
