I have got a new battery stright wired the starter and both r working fine. ems fuse was blown in fuse box under hood replaced it but when i put the key in and tried to start fuse blew out help.
Ugh.... Goes without saying, you have a short somewhere, aka Rover Electrical Gremlin. Could be anywhere in the chain of ignition components. The one and only similar experience I've had led me to the starter. The way that it is positioned and the contact nuts being so close to the body that I believe the full power of the battery supply has enough current to jump this bridge of as little as. 4-5mm and cause an arc. (From the factory the starter comes with a protective rubber boot to prevent this.) Crawl under there (after disconnecting the battery) loosen the nuts on the posts of the starter and tighten them down after you position them in such a way that the cable and any metal on the connector or wire is as far from other metal of the body. If your preotective boot is gone then you need to insulate the positive contact somehow. Tape isn't going to do it, but liquid electrical tape will work or the rubber boot off of an old set of ignition wires could be modified with a bit of enginuity. Remeber to disconnect the negative lead off of the battery before doing ANY electric troubleshooting on a Rover. If by chance you were working on your starter and did not do this, you're in luck, a wrench to the live starter will blow a fuse everytime and this is where your problem would likely be. This car is in super lock mode... when you press remote 2times to lock or when you lock with remote and try to unlock using key manually.
there is a 4 digit number to open the door, its like opening a safe, starting from the left(key in car door) it goes L/R/L/R. so if number code is 1234..... left 1, right 2, left 3, right 4.
or if this too troublesome you can ask landrover dealer to remove the KEYCODE.

I just expiriance the same problems on my rover so i check it out and found that the engine spark fuse was out. I replaced the said fuse and their you go it started. You can find that fuse under the dashboard in the satellite 1 fuse box. it should be the 3rd one from the right. Good luck buddy hope that helps you out.

Unfortunately I believe that will require a trip to the dealer, and a hefty price tag to go with it. Most dealers refuse to let anyone else handle their security systems. And most keys have the alarm keypad built in making it even more dealer specific. I wish I could give better news.

make sure you disconect the battery or the computer still reads that the circuit is open and will fry a perfectly good coil. I had the same issue and had to do a second time. Disconected the battery and now no problems.

Passenger side front to rear 2,4,6,8, driver side 1,3,5,7. Distributer rotates clockwise. Number 1 is usually marked on the cap.
Leads for distributor cap should be connected as illustrated.
RH - Right Hand side of engine, when viewed from rear.
LH - Left Hand side of engine, when viewed from rear.
