Make sure there aqre no warning lights on the dash on, check the brake fluid it needs to be near the full mark, check the brake lights and be sure they are all working, if the cruise indicator light does not turn on check the fuses on the inside dash at the lower left.

How can we make the cruise button work all the time on our DTS Cadillac 2008?

The question itself is not clear. Does cruise control "shut off" while driving it?

Does it refuse to engage sometimes?

Further explanation and more specific detail of the problem is required.

Cruise control wont engage after restarting vehicle

The fact that the light comes on is a good indication that the electronics are working, the most common problem is a vacumn leak. This can be a damaged or cracked vacumn line, a bad check valve, or the dump switch on the brake pedal

Cruise not working on my 2002 avalon

Really need more info...Did this happen all of a sudden..?..Do you use it often..?..Has it been worked on lately for any other reason..?What is the mileage.?..The first step would be check fuses and relays and all wiring connections..There is also a cruise switch located on the brake pedal lever near the brake light switch..This shuts it off..It is a common problem..You will need a test light to check fuses and switch...Sometimes I have seen the pedal switch get damaged by drivers foot so inspect it carefully....Send more info so I can be more of an assistant......Thank You..

My 2008 Avalon cruise control increments by 5 MPH when i toggle the cruise control up or down. The book says it should increment by 1 MPH. Can i change the increment amount or do i need to take it to a...

You have the Laser Adaptive cruise control. Using the adaptive cruise control, it does indeed increment by 5MPH increments. The dash indicator has a series of parentheses ((( to show that it is on. The advantage to the adaptive system is that a laser measures the distance to the car in front of you and will slow the car to match the car in front, maintaining distance. It will even brake for you if it detects a collision is imminent.

To turn off the adaptive system (revert to regular cruise control), push the cruise control lever straight back for more than 1 second. The parentheses in the dash indicator will disappear. When using conventional cruise control (non-adaptive), the con tol will then increment the speed by 1MPH increments.

This is covered in the user manual at the end of the cruise control section.

Good Luck!!

The cruise control dash panel light flashes on and off every few seconds when I push the CC button and will not engage, just keeps on flashing...?

Get a code reader. Your car is obd1 or obd2 you can buy them pretty cheap at your local auto parts store and it will tell you what is possibly wrong with your cruise control. Saves going and getting the codes read at a shop
