1994 XJ6: Previous owner had all new brakes and rotors done 2 weeks before I bought the car. I can see its true. But it pulls really hard right at the touch of the pedal. Drives great and everything works. He was told the issue is a $1200 switch. What switch? ABS? It seems like the drivers side is not working at all. To me, an old Chevy man, that means the lines need to be bled? But the switch threw me.

SOURCE: Brake pads and rotors glazed over?

Well .. if indeed you have glazing and you don't want to replace the rotors you can either use some emery cloth to "sand" them by hand or have them cut (if you can find an automotive or machine shop). But you should also replace the pads then

SOURCE: Exhaust smoke - 1994 XJ6 4.0

you have bad valve seals again and it is possible that the valve guides are bad ( to much play ) i worked for Jaguar 13 years and i have done 100's of these and very few needed guides it sound like the seals where not done correctly at the last repair.

SOURCE: 1989 jaguar xj6 new engine or new cylinder???

At that price replace the engine. Make sure though that you get a warranty for the engine that includes the cost of installation if the new one fails. Most shops will warranty for 90 days which is long enough to find out if there is going to be a problem.

I have a 2006 F150, that needs a front brakes job, I bough the pads, but they told that I need to buy the hole rotor is that true

You do not need to buy the whole rotor, unless your rotors are shot.
Most brake places will not change brake pads unless you also have your rotors machined or replaced, which makes them about $250 in extra profit... go figure heh?!
anyways, its a good idea to machine your rotors when you replace your pads, they will work better, they will last longer, and you wont feel any movement in the pedal when you are hard braking.
If your rotors are shot, you will need to get those replaced, if you ignore bad rotors, you will eat through your brake pads in a matter of months or even weeks, you wont have half the stopping power you should, if you need to brake really hard it will feel like you are going 40mph on a giant washboard, and you risk your brakes catching and being ripped off the calipers, or ruptoring your brake lines and loosing all your brakes.

With your old brakes, if you didnt feel your pedal bounce up and down really bad when you braked, you should be fine, although it is recomended, if you cant afford it, you cant afford it. But, might not be easy to find a mechanic that will just put the pads on and not make you at least machine them... but you wont find a mechanic at all that will put pads on a rotor that is going to become a risk, so hope your rotors are good enough to work, if you dont want to replace them.

Driving normal, at 80 kms, car seems to studder a bit, (gas wise) engine light comes on. Stop car, re-start, everything fine, no engine light, at 60 kms, fine, get up to 80 km, engine light comes on and...

First try replacing air filter if not done recently $30, next consider bad fuel put in fuel from major oil company from station with many patrons. Then you need to look at fuel delivery system including fuel filter and furl pump. But first try the 2 things mentioned.

My brakes arent working correctly after getting new pads & rotors

Go back to where you had the brake job done and tell them they did not bleed the brakes correctly and it is causing you problems. Make them road test the car before any work is done. Once they bleed the system it more than likely will work normally

I'm replacing the brake pads but don't have money for new discs right now. Is it ok to put on new pads for a couple of weeks and then new discs?

Disk's and pads are the same thing,Brake pads,Brake disk.
Are you meaning the rotor?
If you are the answer is yes,you don't have to replace the rotors unless you have a rotor brake vibration when you are applying the brakes on your car.
If you do want to change rotors later, you can but remember to take sand paper to the previous new pads, because they were used and got hot and hard they will now score the new rotors, that is why you sand the pads.

Rear drivers side brake bleeder niple is froze - need to replace calipar - is this difficult? I have completed other repairs on brakes and replaced calipars before just not on a blazer

This is just like any other vehicle to change out the caliper. Almost all brakes are the same when it comes down to it. The only difference is the way certain companies either install them or the way they work. But on the Blazer it is really simple and can be done by just taking your time and doing it like you have done before

Brakes Squeak and grind - mostly when cold

This is a head scratcher! My first thought is the rotors. They have an oil film that needs to be degreased before being installed. That may be only part of the prob! My guess is that you hit open road in a short time?? The grinding, jack each wheel and rotate by hand, have your helper gently apply the brakes,[just slightly], this should lead you to the prob. Also check for movement in the wheel bearings. Check that the dust shields are clearing the rotor. If all this fails, remove the wheels and check the inside of the rims for any wear marks. This may be ever so slight. This is the best I can come up with at this time! Frankster016
