SOURCE: oil pump and busted head gasket

You should not have to pull the engine to do this project. However there is a cross member under the engine that will need to be removed first. Once this is done you need to un-bolt the motor mounts. Then you will need to lift the engine with a hoist. Now you can remove the oil pan and then the oil pump. Hope this information helps. Good luck.

SOURCE: 98 chevy s-10 2wd is it possible to change the oil

Yes it is possible but you will have to get about six inches of clearance so the pan will clear the oil pump pickup

SOURCE: Is there ANY way to change the oil pan gasket on a S10...

Remove motor mount bolts and rear transmission crossmember bolts or nuts, suppport engine/trans. see if u have enough clearance between pan and axle remove pan. if not, split the exh away from the manifolds. worth a try

SOURCE: I have a 2001 2wd

You can do that. I would check cylinder wall taper and ring gap. If the knock is coming from a rod bearing, I would plasti-gauge that journal first to make sure that the crankshaft doesn't need turned. Besides that, you should be ok.

you need to check i"m not positive on that head gasket pattern but if its upside down you could have covered a oil port causing your oiling problem

today nobody changes it for fun or service.
its only changes if its bad now. (epa laws moved it)

its here,
id leave them alone , until fuel pressure drops, if ever.
the fsm nor oper guide lists it to do random service,

2005 toyota corolla blowing smoke

Blowing black smoke means fuel mixture is too rich, possible choke is stuck partically closed.
Blowing white smoke especially driving off the traffic lights indicates either worn valve guides or worn piston rings. Valve guides require the head to be removed to replace valve guides.
Replacing piston rings means a major engine repair. It maybe better to get a reconditioned motor than replace worn piston rings because other worn engine parts should be replaced at the same time.

96 geo prizm is burning oil. what is the problem?

Depending on the mileage, worn piston rings are the most likely cause. There are also numerous places on these engines that leak - valve cover gasket, distributor seal, cam seal and oil pan are the most common. You can try a heavier weight oil the next oil change. If you're current using 10W30, try switching to 10W40.

Toyota Tercel had engine replaced now it smokes alot. The details are rather lengthy and if possible I would prefer to not have this posted online at this time, but do have several questions regarding this...

It's an old engine out of another car I assume. You either have worn oil rings or the valve seals need replacing. Try using STP oil treatment or Wynn's oil treatment for the time being. This should help. Also try 10W40 oil at your next change. Short of a rebuild, it's about the best you can do. Good luck!

2001 Toyota Corolla, Burning Oil rapidly

hi, the main cause of major oil consumption is due to cylinder wall deterioration. this is caused be bad piston ring sets that tend to chip of tiny pieces of the cylinder walls over a long period of time. this will start to show in engines with high millage. this will also lead to compression loss as well if it is not fixed soon.

To fix this issue within the cylinder walls, they will have to be machined and a new set of piston rings will have to be fitted around each affected piston. this will stop the oil from leaking into the combustion chamber and it will restore the compression rate as well.

2001 Toyota Corolla, Burning Oil rapidly

Take your vehicle back to your mechanic, and have him perform a DRY, then a WET compression test. Please provide both readings back to me. In the meantime, ask him what it would cost you to him replace the piston rings. This is your problem. The 2 tests will simply verify me thinking.
