My 2001 VW Beetle beeps 3 times each time I start car, no light flashing on dash, just beeps then stops. What does this mean?

Each time I start care, after about 1 minute, the car will beep 3 times, then stops. There are not light on dash so not sure what the car is trying to tell me.

My 2004 VW Beetle does the same. I have no answer yet either. A coolant leak is my guess, not sure.

It means that you are low on radiator fluid. Fill the reservoir and the beeps will stop.

Usually it means the handbrake is pulled up while you are driving the car. Have you noticed the car just isn't as zippy as it should be, or a hot smell from the rear of the car when exiting, or overly hot brake pads? Those are signs the brake is engaged.

If that is not the case then it could be a malfunction of the indicator. In either case it should be looked into as an engaged emergency brake can turn into a brake or rotor job if it's not addressed.

I had that problem...as soon as I had my back breaks fixed, it stopped. I have a 99 beetle as well!

SOURCE: Jetta beeps 3 times while ESP light is on

Probably one of the ESP sensors have faulty connection.These sensors measure the speed of the wheels ,if they are not connected then ESP cannot work.For safety reasons the system will not start up and gives you this error message.

What lights are on on the dash, I'd check your fluids (coolant especially) .

Why are your using it-- for some time ?

When you start the motor or drive, and any dash light
comes on, you have problems & stop using it, & have it
checked for codes, to see the system with the fault, & get
it diagnosed & repaired,not continue to use it, & possibly
do damage to something

2000 vw beetle. The brake light on the dash flashed and there was a beeping sound. The brake pedal seems to go much lower these days and the car is not stopping as well as it used to..

pop the bonnet and check the oil in your resivior and look for leaks... if all looks ok it it may well be that your break servo may be on the way out

I have a 2000 VW Beetle, automatic transmision. The handle is locked on park position. ABS and Brake lights turns on at the same time. How can I unlock the transmision?

possibly the brake light switch above the brake pedal is faulty. The transmition lever will not move unless your foot is on the brake, if the switch that senses this action is faulty, the transmision lever will not move.

when you say ABS and Brake lights turns on at the same time, do mean the lamps at the rear of the car are on or are you refering to warning lamps on the dash panal?

if you meant dash panal then check your stop lights are working, if all 3 dont work, this definately points to a faulty brake light switch.

if your stop lights are on all the time, then this also could be either a faulty switch, or the switch has been dislodged from its bracket above the brake pedal.

2001 vw beetle automatic transmission will not shift into overdrive at highway speeds. why?

I have a 2001 Beetle, the transmisson seen to have a pause and then engage when driving normaly and it's worst on the hills, after driving a distance it smells some kind of quemical that is not oil or gas, the beeping sound and the engine light on the dashboard goes on when stopping (may be the motor) and the temperature blue light goes on constantly. Are all of this related? to transmission? separate issues? The dealer and 2 other private mecanics don't give a perfect diagnosys they are all the time guessing. What's wrong? please advice.
