I recently bought a Qashqai. The Sat has been working fine initally but recently from around December, when I turn on the engine I get this error: "Disc error. Please check the disc."
After around 20-30 mins, it returning to working order. I cleaned the disc but the error continues. It appears to happen when weather is cold. Has anyone else had this problem? Any solution?

Hi,
Interesting problem, perhaps you might try to do a reset of the system initially. Normally, this ought to revert everything back to factory default but of course all user settings, preferences and configurations would also be erased. Additionally, some models/units would also ask for an entry code before being operational, pls have this available if your unit requires one. An alternative method of reset is to remove power from the mains. But again, as a reset and a code might be required.
Could you possibly provide likewise the exact make and model of the Nav DVD-CD?
Hope this be of initial help/idea. Pls post back how things turned up or should you need additional information.
Good luck and kind regards.
Thank you for using FixYa.

If this is a new vehicle, you should have an owners manual with it; it would have that information in detail.

saturn has a TSB#04-08-45-005D the ignition switches go bad usually when its cold outside and they dont let the car start, common ion issue,,you need a new ignition switch,,not the lock cylinder the switch its a little electric box on the end of the cylinder housing you need to replace that and reprogram the new one to the car, switch is like $40
