SOURCE: Where is the mass air flow sensor located on a jaguar x-type

hi from the uk the location of mass air flow sensor on x type jag is as follows==it is on the r/h/side of the air filter cover with jaguar embossed on top? this sensor is just prior to the intake hose that connects to the motorised throttle body from filter connections underneath it to unplug and meter is held by two screws ?if memory serves ? may i suggest you remove the large hose and use a little wd40 or similar to clean /lubricate the throttle butterfly in throttle body throat at this point so as to prevent future sticking upsetting of idling ? hope this helps ?

SOURCE: Where is the Mass Air Flow Sensor?

It is inline with the air intake .They are typically held in the tubing with hose clamps and a 2 or 3 wire connection. Make sure you check for direction of air flow.

My 2009 kia borrego is slow to pick up speed after stopping, what's causing this?

Check for a restriction in the air inlet tube and air filter box as well as a dirty air filter . A dirty mass air flow sensor, restricted injectors and too low of fuel pressure also cause sluggish acceleration .

NO accelleration on hills

disconnect your air mass sensor then drive to see if the problem went away. this sensor tells the computer when the air filter is bad. a bad air mass sensor will change the computer setting and make your car loose power.

Slow response

If equipped, Have MASS AIR FLOW SENSOR CLEANED. YOU CAN BUY THIS AT MOST AUTOMOTIVE STORES. DO NOT USE ANYTHING OTHER THAN MASS AIR FLOW CLEANER TO THIS SENSOR. ALSO, THIS SENSOR IS DELICATE, IT HAS HEATING ELEMENTS ON IT AND MUST BE HANDLED WITH EXTREME CARE. HOPE THIS HELPS. DIRECTIONS WILL BE ON CAN.

1. Vehicle sometimes jerks as it moves. 2. Acceleration slow even when the accellerator is fully pressed.

Hello and welcome to FixYa!

You have vacuum irregularities that's why the car jerks and unresponsive. This is caused by a faulty MAF (mass air flow) sensor. Once replaced you'll be good.

Hope this helps and thank you for using FixYa! Have a good one!

Can I clean out the catalytic converter on my 93

These have to be replaced. Clean the intake/throttle area, and a new set of plugs. See if that helps, it sounds like one of the plugs don't have a great spark to fire off when you accelerate.

No power?

A DIRTY MASS AIR FLOW SENSOR. IT'S LOCATED IN THE BIG TUBE RUNNING FROM YOUR AIR FILTER BOX TO THE THROTTLE BODY ON THE ENGINE. CLEAN IT BY TAKING IT OFF AND BUYING SOME MASS AIR CLEANER OR A GOOD ELECTRICAL CLEANER SOLD AT AUTOMOTIVE STORES.CRC IS A GOOD BRAND.SPRAY THE CLEANER ON THE SENSORS THEY LOOK LIKE LITTLE WIRES/COILED SPRINGS INSIDE THE HOUSING..THIS SHOULD TAKE CARE OF YOUR PROBLEM..
