Keeps banging in air box and will not accellerate
LOSS OF ACCELERATION It
can be fuel pressure issue or it's the problem with accelerator pedal or its
clogged filters causing there. There
are many other possibilities. I suggest you to go through the list of help
links mentioned below, these will help you to confirm where the actual fault

fuel pressure regulator on the fuel rail is probably it or the egr valve is stuck open allowing burnt fuel to flood the intake, im leaning towards the fuel pressure regulator because the o2sensor is probably reading rich or if its reading lean then i would choose the egr valve . good luck

SOURCE: Where is the mass air flow sensor located on a jaguar x-type
hi from the uk the location of mass air flow sensor on x type jag is as follows==it is on the r/h/side of the air filter cover with jaguar embossed on top? this sensor is just prior to the intake hose that connects to the motorised throttle body from filter connections underneath it to unplug and meter is held by two screws ?if memory serves ? may i suggest you remove the large hose and use a little wd40 or similar to clean /lubricate the throttle butterfly in throttle body throat at this point so as to prevent future sticking upsetting of idling ? hope this helps ?
SOURCE: Where is the Mass Air Flow Sensor?
It is inline with the air intake .They are typically held in the tubing with hose clamps and a 2 or 3 wire connection. Make sure you check for direction of air flow.
