Parking sensor not working

I have a 2003 Mazda 6. When I put it in reverse the parking sensor starts but is not functioning properly. The volume and length of each beep stays constant regardless of how close I get to something (e.g. a wall).Any advice on what is wrong here or how I cna fix it would be greatly appreciated. Many thanks

SOURCE: parking brake light

The parking brake and the low brake fluid use the same light. If it comes on during acceleration, your brake fluid level is low and you need to add some brake fluid or replace your pads. The brake fluid gets low as the pads wear as the whole system is hydraulic. Another possibility is a brake fluid leak. As you accelerate, the fluid gets pushed back causing the low brake fluid light to turn on.

SOURCE: Mazda 323f sport 1999. How do you adjust parking brake?

Where the handbrake lever is,it will be covered by a boot of some sort.Peel this back and beside the lever will be either a rod with a nut on it,or it will have a recess for a screwdriver.with the h/brake off,do the adjustment by tightening it.When it's right, the h/brake should have to be pulled so 7 'clicks' can be heard.Hope this helps

Hi ive got a jaguar s type 2.7d and having problem with parking sensors, would you know anything about them?

Hello
Check the sensors , you still might have bad one in the group which will effect the full function of the sensors.

If sensors are good , then you need to check the position of the sensors and set up correctly as if one of the sensors is out of alignment , it will cause this problem.

If not , the you need to check the electrical wiring for the sensors

Engine works, but my car won't move when I give it gas.

Could be your clutch or the cable from the shifter has a plastic piece that is easily broken that wont allow proper gear placement

How to replace a bmw rear parking sensor

put car into reverse with ignition on (not running) and either listen very closely or feel each sensor with your finger tips, you should hear a clicking noise or feel a ticking on the good sensors. once you have determined the faulty one simply release the two plastic retaining clips and push the sensor through the bumper inwards, then remove plug and fit new sensor

Sensor beeping continously in reverse

Try to clean rear parking sensors. Check also electric cables and connections, clean if necessary. Commons faults are sensors out of order. If one or more sensors faults you hear only a continous constant noise when you put in "R" gear. You need a VAS, VAG-COM, Bosch KTS, ... diagnosis scantool. The factory parking system will be scaned from errors with this instrument, and you will find exactly which sensors are out of order (for example: rear left center sensor, rear right side sensor break off, short to ground or short to plus).
