Manually unlock rear door but door latch still wont open

Hello,
You may have 2 issues going on at the same time.
1. The child lock safety latch is up, preventing you from opening the door from the inside.
2. The inside clip to the rod that opens the door from the out side could of come off from closing the door to hard. Or the lock itself is getting stuck.
Options:
Roll the window all the way down, and look through the window crack with a flash light and see if any of the rods are just hanging and not connected.
If there are you can try using a slim jim with the cut out part facing up and try to catch the latch and pull up this could open the door.
Or you can try to take off the door panel from the inside, however this is very difficult and should be done by a professional becuse you don't want to break any thing or cause more dammage.
Once the door panel is off you can then pull the inside door release rod and open the door.
One more thing you can try: Pull the inside handle and the out side handle at the same time while having some on pull or push on the door, it just might be stuck and need a little force to open!

SOURCE: 2005 gmc yukon back passenger doors will not
My wife's 2003 Yukon wouldn't lock the rear doors or hatch, but it would unlock. My problem was the lock relay was bad. There are two relays, one for lock and one for unlock. They are located in the fuse panel on the left side of the console. Open the drivers door and you will see a cover that pops off. Behind this are several fuses and relays. Consult your manual to see which is the lock and unlock relays. They are side by side on a 2003. They pull straight out. I replaced both and they were around $10 apiece at any auto store.

This could be a problem with your primary switch in the driver's door. Everything passes through that switch. Verify voltage continuity to the switch (Haynes or Chilton will give you a conclusive wiring schematic), and you must also verify that the switch itself is not faulty. Using a DMM (digital multi meter), measure the resistance (ohms) between 2 contact points, then hit the switch and verify that this number increases.

On the inside trim, you can remove screws that are by the door handle, arm rest, under door and side of door and then gently pull back on the panel as there will also be retaining clips attached and you don't want to break them. You'll need to lift the door panel upwards in order to get it off the window ledge. Then you'll need to manipulate the panel and disconnect the door handle linkage from the door handle and disconnect the wiring for your controls
