How do I change a check engine light for a 2000 lincoln town car

Tail Lights, Stop Lights and Rear Turn Signal Lights

Turn the Town Car's engine off, and open the trunk. Remove the trunk retainer if your Town Car is equipped with one. Put on the gloves.
Pull the carpet away in order to access the tail lamp assembly. Remove the three nut-and-washer assemblies with a socket wrench.
Remove the desired bulb socket by turning it counterclockwise, and then pulling it straight out of the assembly. Pull the old bulb out of the socket, and install a new bulb. All three lights use 3457AK-type bulbs.
Place the socket back into the assembly, and reinstall the three nut-and-washer assemblies. Place the carpet back into the vehicle, reattach the trunk retainer if necessary, and close the trunk.

Is the check engine light on ?
Normally the computer will try to change the timing to compensate for the lower octane of the fuel. Once you use half of the tank you could put premium in and mix it.
But if the check engine light is on and you have a miss, the problem could be something other than the cheaper gas.

No, your check trac light is used to monitor the traction control system. It is sensing an issue in the traction control system, which is pretty complex. There may be a code saved in the computer that a dealer could pull for you.

I might be a switch regulator on your steering colum.

every car i ever had provided instructions for all light bulb changes in the owners manual, along with a lot of other useful information. it is generally located in the glovebox, if it is gone there are lots of them for sale over on ebay.

not sure which fuse except to say same fuse as tail lights is one you're looking for. try turning your park lights on and wiggling bulbs back and forth,i suspect a bad ground inside bulb holder. you can wiggle bulb to check that. after you do get it working i suggest you apply some bulb grease to put into bulb socket for no future problems.

Chances are you have a bad bulb. Change all bulbs for the parking and tail lights, making sure as well that they are the correct format (i.e. 1156, 1157 etc).

I suggest contacting a local auto parts dealer for specific indications for these bulbs. They will let you know what correct bulbs to use. You will want to check the fuse panel and make sure the fuses for these are not blown or missing.

bulb is probably blown... you have to remove the instrument cluster to change the bulb
