I HAD THE SAME PROBLEM, CHANGED OUT BATTERIES IN MY REMOTES AND HAD THEM TESTED AND THEY WORKED FINE. THEY DEALERSHIP STATED IT WAS NOT UNDER WARANTY AND IT WOULD COST $600 TO FIX IT. YOU CAN ONLY REPLACE IT THRU A CHEVY DEALERSHIP. KIND OF A SCAM!

It sounds very much to me like the horn circuit is shorting out somehow just before the ring and contact assembly inside the steering column. It does take a bit of experience to dismantle the items properly. An easy way out would be to eliminate the horn button circuit completely, and wire in a dash-mounted aftermarket horn button directly to the horn or relay, depending on how the circuit is set up.

My 2006 Chev Impala 3.5l v-6 just showed trouble code P0690. I cleared the code by disconnecting the neg battery lead. It was ok for first start but showed again on the second start. What is it?

POSSIBLE CAUSES FOR THAT CODE OF A CHEVY ARE:
WEAK BATTERY
FAULTY COMPUTER OR ECM (Engine Control Module)
BLOWN ECM FUSE
ECM WIRE HARNESS IS OPEN OR SHORTED
ECM CIRCUIT HAS POOR ELECTRICAL CONNECTION.

Where is the pcm location on a 06 impala

If you have the factory air intakeits inside the air box.

1. Disconnect neg on battery
2. Remove the diagonal brace located above the air box
3. Disconnect the air intake boxfrom the "hose" that runs to it.
4. Remove air box. there is a screw or two holding the two pieces together, you only need to take out the one side first (side closest to the engine)
5. Pull the airboxout.(if you still can't get the pcm out) There are push in fasteners on the bottom so pull up pretty hard.

I have a 2006 pt cruiser. Randomly the horn is blowing with the car sitting in the driveway

Could be a short in the wire to the horn. I would inspect it under the hood. The horn has power even when the key is off, so a short could cause this. If it`s in the steering wheel, I would let a professional work on it, since working around the airbag sensors is dangerous.

Horn on 2006 taurus stop working yesterday - fuse is OK - what else could it be?

Check the connection at the horn. It could be dirty, lose or corroded. There may be a relay for it somewhere.
I don't where the horn is located, usually up front around the grill.
If you are handy, try unplugging the horn and run a jumper wire from the battery to the horn and see if it honks. I don't know if your horn grounds by the mount or of you need to run a pos and neg to it.

My horn stopped working on my 2006 Toyota Scion SB

most new cars have what is called a clock spring be hind the steering wheel.this is a flat ribbon cable like what you would Se in a computer.what can happen when the ribbon is damaged is the horn can quit working.the cruse control .and the air bag light will come also.but most likely one of the problems will occur.but over time the other problems start happening also.so are you sure you are getting power to the relay .use a volt meter on the terminals under the relay and have someone to push the horn button.this will tell you if you are getting power from the horn button.

While sitting in my driveway with the doors locked the alarm

you can disconnect the horn by pulling the airbag out of the steering wheel and simply disconnecting the horn wire. be sure to disconnect battery before you touch the inflatable restraint. it may require special tools to remove air bag.
