This sounds like a fuel starvation issue.
Is the engine running smoothly? Have you checked the injectors? What warning lights are on the dashboard?
Running the engine at idle, put some injector cleaner through the system. The only other reason could be a faulty engine sensor of some kind.

If this engine is a VORTEC then you may have a problem with the internal fuel system. Under the top plenum there is a fuel reg and poppet valves that inject fuel into the cylinders. Sometimes the tubes that run fuel from the reg to the valves can leak and cause your problem. This cannot be found with pressure check because this occurrs after the reg. PS fuel mileage will go down. Let me know if this helps.Moe

SOURCE: 1996 chevy blazer heavily misfiring

check to see if the oil cap is on tight,it wont run well if it is off or not tight...if it smells of strong gas fumes then replace the fuel regulator, the catalytic converters could be plugged, let it warm up as much as you can and use an infrared thermometor with the laser light(you can get at Home Depot for about $30.00)and check the temperature of the converters by aiming it at it and the temperature should be no more than 1500 degrees...or pull the distributor cap off and inspect for cracks and corosion..

Have you checked that engine oil level is okay, if so check that oil pressure switch is good. The switch is usually bypassed to start the engine, but it won't run with no oil pressure indicated...hope this helps

I have a chevy s10 2.2 2003 truck and one day it ran about five miles. then stalled. it started back up idled fine but put it in gear. stalled again. had to get towed home replaced the fuel filter,truck...

When you press on the gas when the truck is running, does it rev up?

Did it die while driving down the road (foot on the accelerator) or when idle? - If so, try cranking it and get your RPMs up to 1500-2000 RPMs and put it in drive (with your other foot on the brake). See if it will continue running if you never take your foot off the gas.

98 chevy blazer only 3 cylinders firing...

Well, If you located a dead cylinder, have you decided if the problem on that cylinder is spark--fuel--compression? If you have good spark, check fuel pressure. If you have that spider fuel system, that system is noted for problems.

2000 Chevy Express keeps blowing ECM-B fuse

you may need a new computer module. you can check for shorts by identifying where the computer module is and following the wires to your fuse box. this may take some time to do. also check your fuse box and make sure it is in good condition and has a cover, no rust, etc. best bet is to get a chilton's repair manual for your vehicle at a local autoparts store. about 28 bucks. especially if you need to do this on your own. this will help give you the correct procedures for identifying and fixing things.

I think my timing chain jumped time my truck died going down the road kinda like it bogged down then just stopped running and it wont start back when u try to start it it will turn over for couple seconds...

well first off you need to start by checking the compression on all 8 cylinders!!!! to rule out internal engine failure as oppose to jumped timing. its very rare that timing chains will jump especially a double roller chain. get a compression gauge take the plugs out and get a reading on all the cylinders. you should be no more then 10-20psi difference from cylinder to cylinder. but on the chevy motors if there is a problem they usually show well on a compression test! good luck post back up the results then we can go from there.

P0171, p0174 too lean bank one and too lean bank two

Any time there is a code that says "too lean" then that means there is not enough fuel that is going into the cylinder to make it combust. This is very dangerous to the engine! There are a few things that cause this. (1) The fuel injectors are clogged and need to be cleaned or replaced. (2) the fuel pump is starting to die and needs to be replaced. The best thing to do is get fuel injection cleaner and put it in the gas tank when you fill up and see if that helps. If it still persists then replacing the injectors would be the best way to go next. I hope this gives you a better idea what to do!

Have a good one!

93 s10 blazer runs and then dies and won't start again

check and make sure the sparkplugs are clean, I got a hunch it could be that small back module under the distributor cap, it is very sensitive to heat.

No spark when trying to start the engine on 98 chevy blazer

Check for dead battery. Test wipers, radio, headlights and heater fan. If all work normally, battery is probably charged and you may have bad starter or alternator ....

Good luck...
