That's normal; this protects your engine from over-rev damage.

SOURCE: i have a 1999 buick regal ls dying.

I found the problem. It was the crank position sensor. There was also a cracked vacuum hose connecting to the diaphragm on the fuel rail. Replaced both and my 92 Buick no longer dies. For the guy who's Buick was dying when using the turn signals - replace the crank position sensor. One of my symptoms of my Buick dying was when I used my turn signals. Use of turn signals places a varying load on the electrical system which messes up the crank posistion sensor if it is going bad.

The fluid in the versa trak AWD in the rear is old and needs to be drained and refilled. After you drain and refill it, make a bunch of sharp left and right hand turns, then drive it for 10 minutes. Drain and refill it for the second time and problem solved. Use only versa trak fluid available at any GM dealership. There is TSB on this now at the Buick dealership.

I have a 2002 hyundai santa fe 2.7L that misfires when idling and in gear but not in park or neutral. Any suggestions?

Sounds like a vacuum leak. Check all the Vac hoses and reconnect and repair as needed. Too much air in the intake makes the O2 sensor compensate with more fuel, causing the engine to pop and backfire,

2002 Buick Rondevoux 3.4 V6. Makes a noise from the engine like a buzzing sound. Sounds seems to come from power steering pump. I had it changed twice and still have the sound. Car is quit for twenty...

if the noise is different in park, rev or drive , its in the trans. if no difference, take the belt off and see if its still there, its just a process of elimination. the fuel pressure regulator should have a vacuum hose on it, see if it changes when the hose is removed (higher pressure)

I have a 1990 buick regal 3800 V-6 when engine idles it makes a rattling noise but goes away when i rev engine up (2000rpm) I replaced alternater and water pump but noise still there. Pls help?

explain rattling noise. you can take off the fan belts. start engine briefly to see if engine stil makes noise. that will tell you if its engine or the acc.

Car sound like it's misfiring making popping noise when start up and drive

Typically this is caused from improper timing. On that engine 3.8 v-6 most likely the timing gear is stripped and caused the chain to rotate.
The cam gear teeth is plastic, the plastic wears down (stripped) then the chain becomes loose which will change the timing which causes backfire when cranking over to start.
That engine doesn't have a distributor to check "top dead center" but the cam-sensor can be removed to look inside to see if the plastic gear is worn. I wouldn't recommend you doing this unless you know what to do. I would recommend to tow the car to the closest Buick dealership for inspection. If I'm right, you'll need to replace the timing gears & chain.

Sluggish loss of power and popping noises from engine

Clean the distributer cap in the inside, it has water in it thus causing all the noises and the back fire.
