Battery light has come on and battery died i replaced the battery and car started i turned it off and came back about 10 minutes later and battery had died again is this the alternator or a power drai

There's a website that has all this information about all this and manuals everything totally free there are many actually but I personally like few reliab le-store for eg. .. let me know if u need help

Check the ground cable at the battery. They could have left it loose.

you've had the misfortune of getting a bad rebuilt alternator-sorry-they should give you another one -I hope its not hard to replace-Denny

(this damages the ecu Disconnected negative terminal and car still ran) check and clean the alternator connections. and check the earths. light can come on if water has gotten into the alternator or the connection has come loose. you don't disconnect the battery when the engine is running as it can shock the ecu alternators have a built in voltage stabilizer but this only works with feed back from the battery no feed back it can convert ac instead of dc and blow up the ecu. it also damage other parts.

You have a alternator going out if you get the car going pull the + cable off if the car dies right away the alternator is bad . (Ase) cert auto tech

Sounds like the fuel pump is going out. Replace the filter first, as it's only $10. If that doesn't fix it, then it's probably the pump, which is $250.

Hello: Try this procedure, Turn key on attempt to start engine leave key on, the security light should be blinking, wait 10 minutes. The security light should be off. Turn key off for 10 seconds, turn key back on (DO NOT ATTEMPT TO START) wait another 10 minutes. Turn key off for 10 seconds. Do the procedure again as in step 2. At the end of the third time turn key off then ten seconds later attempt to start the car. It should start.

this process will take about half an hour to doyou might want to put a battery charger on it on the low setting because if the battery dies in process u have to start over.first thing is try to start car,it might start then stall,when that happens leave the key in the on position and the security light will be flashing and it will keep doin it for 10 minutes,then it will stay on solid,when it does that turn the key off for 2 seconds then turn it to the on position anfd the light will be flashing agian for 10 minutes,then it will be on solid,then turn the key off for 2 seconds and then back on and 10 minutes later when it stops flashing this time u should be able to start it and the light should be off,hope this helps

We had the same issue with our 2007 Yukon Denali XL. Died on us twice after sitting for short periods of time; once we watched a DVD with the engine off and battery died within 10 minutes. The dealership kept it overnight to troubleshoot why the battery died so quickly. They said the radio was "pulling" too much from the battery. (They supposably fixed it) But again a few days later the battery died again after sitting overnight. We brought it back to the dealership and they brought in a GMC "expert" to replace the entire DVD/CD/Navigation system. They also replaced our battery with a much larger battery, similar to the ones that GMC puts in there diesel trucks. They had our Denali for 5 days, but it appears to be fixed now.
Getting it fixed correctly wasn't without headaches, but it was all covered under warranty, including the battery. And they are updating the nav w/ the new edition disc as well for no charge.

Not at all, this could be many different problems, from the coil pack to a sensor, take it to autozone and have them do a trouble code on it, it will tell them exactly what is going on.
