I had my tires changed and on the way home on I85 i noticed smoke coming from the tailpipes, I pulled over and saw smoke coming from under the hood when i checked the oil it said my oil was low i put oil in and started driving again and noticed more smoke so i pulled over and left the car to be towed I also noticed on the lip of the front wheel it appeared to be oil on it what could be my problem
Your car shouldn't have just suddenly started burning oil. Its possible it's leaking in the engine compartment and the leak is dripping onto the hot exhaust manifold and the. The smoke is blowing out the back as you drive. I would think it's unlikely that the engine has been damaged since the check-engine light should have come on if the oil level was low enough to cause damage.
If hii find that bluish smoke is coming from the exhaust pipes, then the next thing to check is whether it smokes on acceleration or deceleration. If the latter, it may be just a valve issue. If it smokes a lot on startup, then it may be rings.

There are 2 possible diagrams depending on if you have a 4.6L SOHC or a 4.6L DOHC. This information should be on the plate under the hood. Best of luck!
