2008 Nissan Pathfinder: After installing a JVC radio, the warning light of the side air bags went ON. The service department says that it was because of the radio installation, but can not explain to me the specific root cause of the problem, nor how to solve it.
I thought that both systems (and cables) are independent (radio and air bags). Are both systems (radio and air bags) in any way electrically interconnected? Or was a careless installer that unplugged "something"?
SOURCE: installing a Nissan Sentra Passenger Side Manual Non Folding Mirror.
had to install a driver side non folding mirror, fairly simply to say the least. There's a cover on the interior of the door, near the window, remove the cover, remove the 3 screws, need i believe a 10mm socket. If a power window, unhook the circuit. Replace new mirror.
SOURCE: air bag light blinking
get this checked out asap. This indicates the air bag system has a problem, and may not deploy in the event of an accident. Did you just purchase the car w/ this problem, or have u had it a while? I ask, because if u purchased it w/ the blinking light, it could indicate the car was in an accident, the air bag deployed, and it wasn't replaced when repairs were made. That's the worse case scenario, get it checked, hopefully it's something not that serious. Let me know how u make out Curt
