SOURCE: clunking sound from front wheels, suspension on Hyundai Atos

It sounds like the CV joints are due to be replaced. Make sure you get them replaced and do not drive it too far, because the CV joints will fail anytime now. Once the CV joints fail, your going to have to get the car towed to get it fixed. Good luck and keep me posted, Oh and don't buy the car from there, who knows what else is wrong with the car that they are hiding from you.

Where can i find the knock sensor for hyundai atos 2007 can you please help me

Knock sensors sit on the side of the block usually somewhere between cylinders 2 and 3. If memory serves correctly I believe on the atos it’s behind the exhaust down pipe so try not to burn yourself

How to prevent engine knock on 92 Ford Thunderbird Lx

The sensor helps to monitor the engine performace, and when it detects knock or pinging. It sends a signal to the PCM which in turn adjusts the timing and fuel ratio to reduce or eliminate it in those situations you have knocking. Low octane, bad gas, carbon deposits and heat will contribute to pinging. It's best to replace the sensor if you know it is faulty to avoid damage to the engine.

1997 gmc truck pings

Timing should be set by the PCM. So you cant adjust the timing. However if you have a faulty knock sensor the PCM cant tell the proper time to fire. The knock sensor picks up on ignition ping and adjust the time to send spark to the plugs.. Other causes of ping can be the engine temp, faulty EGR or the engine can be to lean.

Hello, Thomas. Check the knock sensor. This sensor is suppose to send signal to the computer if the engine start to knocking or pinging. The computer will change the setting on various other components to keep from doing this knocking or pinging. I remember in the older cars that weren't fuel injected but carbureted and had to burn high octane fuel. If one put low octane in the fuel tank the engine would knock/ping, and continue to run after the ignition was turned off. Try the knock sensor or do an diagnosis test on it. Look in your owner manual it tell how to self diagnosis test on you car. GB....stewbison

My check engine light is on on my 98 nissan 200sx

the knock sensor tells the car's on board computer/PCM that the engine is pinging/knocking from poor fuel or the wrong octane or other engine related faults, they seldom fail, most likely the connector to the sensor is making a poor connection, the knock sensor is located on the engine block, it screws into th water jacket, do u hear any engine ping or spark knock?.
