SOURCE: operating lancer automatic transmission

Have you Had the transmission fluid checked? It sounds as if the transmission is slipping in these gears which would point to a fault within the bands. To have a problem like this repaired could cost as little as $200 or as much as $1700 depending on how much needs to be done. Was the replacement a second hand transmission? If yes then did you have a warranty period with it? Let me know and I will get back to you as i am about to seek out a manual for this.

Cheers

SOURCE: seems transmission gear shift problem

Pull the distick and smell the oil. If it's discoloured (black or dark brown) you know the transmission friction plates are burnt and needs a rebuilt.

SOURCE: 1992 Mitsubishi Eclipse transmission slips in overdrive

well the low cost way to go first would be to try and change the trans fluids. If the problems still remains the it may be an internal problem

SOURCE: transmission problem stuck in sport shift mode

I also have a 2009 Outlander Sportronic transmission with a V6 engine.
Bought it this summer ... transmission appeared fine but seemed to automatically slow down the vehicle using the engines compression whenever I let go of the gas pedal.
Now that the cold weather is upon us here in Canada, whenever I accelarate normally (not like a teenager) the transmission takes quite a bit of time to shift into second... If I rev up the engine (quick take off) it seems to help but the shifting of gears is not as smooth as I would expect it (mildly slips and kicks into second)...

The worst is when come to a complete stop ... then the transmission kicks coming down from the higher gears???

I read somewhere that this is because this transmission is a CVT type and is learning my driving habits in order to adjust itself so the vehicle becomes more fuel efficient... Not sure but if the trany is computer controlled then it must be poorly writen program...
I'm taking the car in to the dealer and will write back on the diagnostic they give me ...

Have a P0757 DTC in a 2007 fusion . reader says that solonoid B is stuck on. need to know how to trouble shoot solonoid ,wiring and connectors all the way to the PCM.

Real Simple

You fail to realize that the Black Fluid is the result of the
former owner not changing the fluid & it was black from
over heating as a result

You are in denile & fail to realize that the clutches have
burned up & that is why the fluid is black

I did once own a trans repair business,so your only option
is to pull the unit & rebuild it

Your Ford Tech had a good idea but didn't want to help you
or hurt your feelings, asumming he knew anything at all about
transmissions.

I could have told you all this without opening the hood, before you
got the car.
No fluid changes every 3 years, the unit comes out

2002 dodge ram quad 4.7L 2wd abs & brake lights stay on...speedometer & odometer not working, engine light came on code p0500, changed rear speed sensor twice.( I did notice some metal shavings on...

the speedo and odometer are both worked from the VSS ( (vehicle speed sensor)
check for the reason of metal on the sensor end
could have an internal problem that is not allowing the shifting down so have the transmission check out bat an accredited transmission shop

My 2004 deville shifts a little rough at different speeds. It seems to do it when the car is warm to hot.It does not leak.Would a transmission flush help the problem? It has 76000 miles.we bought it with...

You Change Trans & Power Steering Fluids every
30,000 miles on ALL Vehicles

I don't suggest flushing,some people do

If you want to chance having problems get
it flushed

You remove all the fluid it may just start to slip

You have to understand that fluid changes DO NOT FIX
A THING

The fluid removes heat & breaks down
That is why it is changed

I would assume you don't flush brake fluid every 2 years
Trans & Steering every 3 years,not over 30,000 miles
Spark Plugs at 60,000 miles

When you buy a used vehicle you lay it up for two weeks
& work on it,never drive it
All Preventative maintenance gets done,regardless
of what you were told about the vehicle

2002 Kia Optima runs great, transmission has started acting irradcally. it will shift and pull in gear for a short time after starting, but after a few minutes it fails to move the car. I've changed...

Keep driving it like that & it won't work at all

When ever you even think you have a transmission
issue, you immediately stop using the vehicle or you
end up rebuilding the trans, your call, your money & lots of it

Ask yourself ---Why would changing the fluid do anything?

Old oil out / New oil in ?

You change trans fluid because it breaks down from the heat
That is it's job,to remove heat or your trans fails

Trans & Power Steering get changed every 3 years & not
over 30,000 miles ever on ALL Vehicles

Transmission doesnt shift abs & brake light on speedometer doesnt work

I had the same problem with ABS light and speedometer, I was told that it is the transmission control module. It has not yet stopped shifting but I have had times where it just wont stay running. It will start and then stall. Hope this helps.
