I have a 2006 explorer that has the abs, traction control, and power train lights on. It first came on about 4 months ago and it was a broken abs ring. I replaced the left rear axle and it went away. About a month ago I was pulling a trailer and all three lights came on and have not gone away. I check the Abs rings and they are all ok.

I took STEGG's advise and I checked the exciter rings on the axles and I found that one was cracked and loose on the passenger side rear axel. The truck went to ford and because of the information I had about the exciter ring the repair was compleated in two hours and they told me that they could only replace the exciter ring insted of the whole axel. Total Cost for repair.$296.00.
Thank You so much for the info STEGG.

abs control module is bad
Testimonial: "thanks how much is an abs module cost and is it necessary to fix right away"
SOURCE: Engine light and ABS traction control light remain
The ABS sensor is a speed sensor also for Traction Control. This is why both lights are on , One of your front ABS sensors are bad or disconnected, or has a pinched wire.

Most cars with abs and traction control have sensors built into wheel bearing....some have replaceable sensors that run off of a pickup sensor on cv joint....it could be any one of the four sensors on any wheel if it has 4 wheel abs....afte replaced it should be reset by disconnecting the battery....finding out which one is bad may take some doing and you may have to get it professionally diagnosed if there isn't anything you can see wrong with one of them...
