It is well known that--- Fuel Safety Shut Off Switches
are only on Ford Products & only open in an accident

May have ruined the fuel pump if you ran it low

SOURCE: How do I drop the fuel tank on a 1993 Nissan Altima?

0900c15280078987.jpg

  1. Drain the fuel from the fuel tank.
  2. Properly relieve the fuel system pressure.
  3. Remove the fuel pump access plate beneath the rear seat.
  4. Label and disconnect the fuel hoses and electrical harness.
  5. Raise and safely support the rear of the vehicle.
  6. Label all fuel lines for installation reference.
  7. On 240SX models, remove the exhaust center tube, driveshaft, differential carrier and rear suspension member.
  8. Disconnect the fuel filler hose and vent hose.
  9. Remove the fuel tank protector assembly.
  10. Remove the fuel tank band retaining bolts while supporting the fuel tank with a transmission jack.
  11. Slowly lower the tank assembly from the vehicle.
To install:
  1. Position the tank assembly on the vehicle.
  2. Install the fuel tank retaining bands and tighten the bolts to 20-27 ft. lbs. (26-36 Nm).
  3. Install the fuel tank protector assembly.
  4. Connect the fuel filler hose and vent hose. Tighten the hose clamps securely.
  5. On 240SX models, install the exhaust center tube, driveshaft, differential carrier and rear suspension member.
  6. Lower the rear of the vehicle.
  7. Connect the fuel hoses and electrical harness.
  8. Install the fuel pump access plate beneath the rear seat.
  9. Fill the fuel tank with a few gallons of fresh fuel.
  10. Pressurize the fuel system and check for leaks.
I hope this helps... If the exhaust as been changed or modified it might be necessary to loosen.

SOURCE: 2004 hyundai accent. trouble filling gas tank

I have a 2005 Hyundai Accent, It is not possible to fill the tank if you are letting the petrol pump run at full speed.Trying to fill up quickly it will only build up pressure and cut off. Next time you fill up just pull the petrol pump handle half way, it will take longer to fill but you wont get the blow back. Modern petrol pumps are getting quicker all the time.Hope this helps you.

SOURCE: locate fuel filter, and safety switch to fuel pump

The filter is located at the rear seat, you have to remove it first, then you will see a cap attach with some screws. Inside that cap you`ll find the fuel filter. Before you change the fuel filter you have to release the fuel pressure first. To do that, first find the FUEL PUMP RELAY in the main fuse box located in the engine. Once you located open the fuel door and take off the cap and leave it open. Start the engine, take off the FUEL PUMP RELAY and leave the engine stop itself, when this occurs turn off the key, the you can take off the filter and changed it

SOURCE: My 2003 Nissan Altima won't accelerate.

The accelerator is a potentiometer connected to a pedel and the wires go directly to the ECM. If the AWU( accelerator Working Unit) was bad the engine would run constant at 1800-200 rpm. Do any codes come up? I will do some more research and repost.

SOURCE: can't fill gas tank on 2002 Sportage

Try not to put nozzle completely in the tank. There is an anti-syphoning device that is smaller than the rest of fill tube and can cause back pressure. This can be removed

2011 Nissan Altima ran out of gas and want crank! Any suggestions

Have you added gas yet? This is a safety feature that some manufacturers add to the car so when there is no gas the engine will not crank so it doesn't pull in any dirt. If you've filled it and hasn't cranked try reseting the car by disconnecting the cable from the battery for about 10-15 minutes

What brand of gas is the best for a 2003 nissan sentra. Is chevron a safe choice?

some prefer a name brand although I always fill up after 8 AM in the morning at my local station. The reason is the tanks are filled at 7AM at the station I go to giving me the satisfaction no moister from a very low underground tank will get into my gas tank when I fill up. All fuel tanks receive moister in their tanks. The tanks are electronicly read from inside the filling station. They have alarms that sound if too much moister is inside and shut the picticular tanks pump down. Some times they do not shut down for many reasons. One is a over ride switch incase that tank is the only one left with fuel in it especially on a holiday weekend. It has happened to me a few times causing my car to throw codes from the computer and also stalling out a few miles from the gas station after filling the vehicle up. That is why I choose to fill up mine after the station gets their fill up

Either the fluid is low or you have a clogged trany filter or are starting to loose your transmition. If it is just low on fliud you will ruin your trany if you keep driving it with this condition.Check your fluid level with the engine running and if it is low fill it to the full line and test drive.

97 altima messed up gas gauge???

very common problem, esp with high milage, the fuel vent system is plugged, because the charcoal canister has come apart and the particles have traveled thru and plugged the fuel vent valve, what happens is when you add fuel the air in the tank cant vent out as the liquid displaces the air and backs up thru the filler neck, this however can get costly.

1993 sentra jerking problems.

I wanted to just give a suggestion...do you go to the same gas station to get gas? My sentra ran horrible because I kept going to this same gas station. My gas would get low and it would start cutting off and trying to cut off. I let my fuel go to almost empty and then went to another gas station to fill up. It hasnt cut of for about 6 months now and I havent returned to that gas station.
