Roger and I can answer your question. The location of the fuel pump relay is behind the glove box. Once you remove the glove box you will see a relay panel. This should be a 3 relay panel. The relay on the left side should be the fuel pump relay. Please rate the quality of this answer as this is how we know you have received the information you wanted. Thank You for using FixYa. Roger

yes you have to drop the tank. you will also need a fuel line tool to unhook the fuel lines. before you drop the tank see if tou can reach and wiggle the electrical connection on the top of the tank. these pumps have a pigtail issue. please rate
SOURCE: how to remove relays from the fuse/relay block on a 2000 Blazer?
There is no release, you just pull up on the relay with a little bit of rocking back and forth. You can use a pair of pliers to get a better grip, but be very gentle and do not crack or warp the relay cover, they are very brittle.
Good luck, let me know.

They should be on seperate circuits. Tyour key on and ck to see if you have any fuel flow. Fuel pumps in tanks do **** out. chk to see if you have any fuel flow by loosening a fluel line. No fuel, no pump. good luck
SOURCE: where is the fuel pump relay located in a 1997 chevy blazer 4-dr.
In the glove box behind a plastic panel. There are 3 relays in there. The fuel pump is the one closest to the drivers side.

You may have a problem with the wireing harnest to the fuel pump There is a service boletin #25215705 released in march 07 The wiring is not resistance wire and tends to over heat When i did mind i bought a deiphi fuel pump and this kit came with the pump i had to cut the wiring back about a foot when i looked at the old wires they looked like they had over heated and were corroided You probably arn;t thrilled to hear this because i know how much fun it is dropping that tank but if you got it down a few inches i think you cuuld get your hand up there and unplug that connector to check it i hope this helps
