Chevy Blazer intake manifold gasket failure

I've had the intake manifold gasket fail on two Blazers now, a 2001 & now my 2002. The 2002 was replaced with a more 'hardy' gasket and I was assured it would never fail agaon. But I just heard it's related to the type of antifreeze used. Which should I be using?

Use one labelled all makes/models (such as one available from Prestone). You can also use DexCool.but it breaks down fairly fast (2 to 3 years).

SOURCE: 1999 Chevy S10 Blazer 4x4. Replacing rear pad's,& Bleeding Breaks

have one person in the blazer pumping the brake pedal and then hold to the floor, crack the bleeder then tighten, release pedal, repeat till all air is out one side at a time, if this does not work then your ABS unit is bad witch if u follow your lines from your master cylinder u will find a black box with a motor on it, or the master cylinder itself is bad, it also can cause u to have no pedal, replace the master cylinder first, most likely cheaper.

I have a 2002 chevy blazer 4wd 4.3l I overheated the engine and blew an intake gasket replaced it but now it shifts at high rpm and idle when started is around 1100 but when I put it in park after I drive...

On over heating an engine there are several items that tend to warp from the heat. The intake manifold required a new gasket so a good place to start would be checking for a vacuum leak in this area as it will alter the idle rpm from incorrect air/fuel ratio mix. Run fault codes to see if any sensors were affected by the over heating engine.

Replace intake manifold gasket; 4.3L V-6

do you have a coolant leak or oil leak. ive always discarded the rubber gaskets provided in gasket kit, and instead, ran a good thick bead of silicone. The rubber gaskets, ive found, can be pushed out, either when setting intake on engine, or if the engine has a bad pcv valve, pressure within block can blow them out. make sure and check pcv valve. after the new intake gaskets are placed on the head, dab a bit more on the 4 corner nubs of the gaskets. i like to use an anearobic sealer around the coolant ports, just thin layer on both sides of gasket. hope this helps. Manifold water leak on 2002 blazer how do you get to it

This happens a lot with chevy engines 305 s 4.3 s its means the intake manifold gasket is leaking because the engine over heated at some point . Cheak your dip stick if you see a white fomey residue on the stick then look inside the radiator cap if you see oil floating on the top of the antifreeze it means oil and antifreeze are mixing this will kill the engine real fast so stop drivering it and have the intake manifold gasket replaced . ALso check for any other sorce of the antifreeze like a radiator hose or a gasket on the goose neck hopfuly you will find something else that easyer to fix but its a disgin problem with chevy they don't have enough bolts holding the manifold down theres 8 and there in the corners 2 in each well good luck with it

I HAVE ANITFREEZE LEAKS FROM MY 2000 CHEVY S10 BLAZER. IT'S HARD TO TELL BUT THE LEAK SEEMS TO BE COMING FROM UNDER THE MOTOR RATHER THAN FROM THE RADIATOR OR ANY HOSE I CAN SEE.

a common V6 failure is the intake manifold gasket. coolant will usually leak behind the water pump on the drivers side, however it can leak at other locations on the intake manifold gasket.

coolant leaks from other areas include the heater core, hoses, expansion plugs, trans cooler, and coolant overflow tank.

Ihave a 96 s10 lt blazer First of all the steering coloum is now where near the engine block and the bracket you mention is for the throttle cable and the cruise control cable and has no gasket for any kind of a seal with the intake manifold. The 4.3 and most chevy engines have a problem with the intake manifold gaskets if you are over heating then likely the intake manifold gasket is leaking you should check your engine oil for antifreeze that will look like a fomey white yellowey residue and also check the radiator for engine oil floating on the top under the radiator cap. This is a big problem with chevy you can't let espesecly the 4.3 ever over heat. There is olny 8 bolts that hold the manifold to the block and there all in the four corners nun in the middle Y ou can save the engine if you fix it now but it is the intake manifold gasket that is leaking

OVER HEATING HAS ANTIFREEZE ,NEW RADITOR AND

Sounds like it could be a head gasket. Most shops will pressure test it (not expensive to test) to find out if that's the culprit. Pretty common overheating cause if you have a new radiator, thermostat and water pump.
