2004 GMC Envoy SLT possible electrical problems

I recently tried to start my SLT and thought the battery was dead. Lights, radio ect all work fine however the clock on the radio always goes back to 12:00. Car will strat now "most of the time". There is a clicking noise so it might be altenator or starter not sure. When I remove the key it will continue to make a clicking/grinding noise then turn off.

I have a 2002 GMC Envoy, something is draining the battery, the shop has installed a new alternator, new battery and the battery still drains in 24-48 hours. The shop has pulled all fuses and see the drain but can figure out where the drian is coming from, any suggestions?

u may have a damaged starter drive and damaged flywheel gear teeth, pull the starter and check the drive gear for wear, while it is out check the flywheel for damaged teeth.

It sounds like you need a regulator for your alternater it is reversing polarity there for draining your battery and reseting the clock. it is located on the back of your alternator.hope this could help.

2002 Envoy rear wiper and washer suddenly not working.

It sounds like you have a grounding issue somewhere. Look up a fuse diagram for the cabin fuse panel. Start from there.

Might be using the current for the cluster lights to power the radio, or a problem with the ground connection.
Check the wires you connected the radio to.
Try unplugging the radio to see if the lights work again.

Car no start problem is sometimes very difficult to confirm. You try all the possible things, but still you get no fault and problem is still the same.--------
In that case, you need to check few things individually.
Check the spark, the battery, the crank, the fuel and other most possible parts. Click this link below for more details:-- http://howtobyme.blogspot.com/2011/10/car-troubleshooting-tips.html

Sounds like a bad ignition switch. There are 3 main ignition circuits coming from the switch, and one will control the engine and starting. One circuit is probably dead thru the switch, causing all the accessories to not function. I would tr that first.

Check and make sure that both battery connections have a SOLID connection...Make sure they are both clean...If they are not clean take them off and simply take a wire brush to them...If this does not work consult someone else
