Reading for the DTE on overhead console is wrong

I am getting wrong readings for the DTE on the overhead console readout. Everytime I fill up the tank, it gives a completely different reading.

Check to make sure that you aren't changing between km/mph readings. I had the same problem when it was 90 degrees out side and the temp was registering in the thirties. It's the button on the left, should say something about KM/IMP or something...

How do I reset the distance to empty

The DTE is automatic and is the result of your previous miles per gallon multiplied by the gallons of gas registered in your tank.

Unlike the Trip miles, this DTE number can not be reset. It will vary by the fuel mileage per gallon recorded at each startup. That is why if you filled the tank and showed 400DTE you may have had 20 Gallons multiplied by 20 MPG. But if your new average is 16 MPG then it would show 320 DTE.

The compass and fuel mileage/dte overhead display has stopped working and gone blank. no lights etc. what do i do to repair it?

The overhead console is quite prone to internal failure. Dim, intermittent, or dead displays are a common symptom of an internal failure. We offer a reasonable repair service with a lifetime guarantee. Check it out: www.autoclockrepair.com

1998 Seville SLS, 42,000 mi, Limit speed to 90mph.

it mean that one of the electronic load leveling sensor is not reading. that sensor tells the air pump to fill up that air shock or air bag. the sensors maybe reasonable price wise but if the sensor is reading that an air shock is not holding air pressure and an air shock is not cheap.

2006 pathfinder gas problems

You have to reset the information or it just continues to do average calculations, but you can reset it but holding down the same knob you use to read the information. When you restart your pathfinder the dte recalculates according to what was previously used, mine does it too!!
