I purchased 2001 hyundai santa fe and when i tried to smog it failed. so now i cant get my tags. code says p0172 bank 1 running rich. ive replaced both o2 sensors, had tune up, air filter replaced, and 1 day later check engine light came back on. car is going through alot of gas, idles up and down, when driving in motion it sort of tugs and doesnt get up to speed. car has 79,000miles i dont know what else to do i bought a lemon
Get the codes pulled again and go from there. If your buying universal or cheap parts from the parts store then the sensors you replaced are probably not compatible with your vehicle. It is cheaper and alot less headaches to get the correct part from the dealer the first time.
An O2 sensor is never the cause of a fault code P0172, you through your hard earned money away. Read about the code and the possible causes at the link below.
