Where to locate fuse box on volvo 740
I have a 1987 740 & the fuse box is located behind the ash tray in the center console. After removing the ash tray you can access the fuse box. Each fuse description, size, & location are listed on the back of the ash tray.
Check just inside the driver side door, on the side panel on the left of the footwell. You should find a small panel that hides the fuse block.

on the 1991 740 the fuse box is located behind the black ashtray, unless you have a 740se, in which case it can be located on the side near the door, like in the 760turbo and 780bertone turbo. good luck :)
