I have recently been having major difficulty with the door locks on my VW Golf. This started with the passenger door and the drivers door locks not catching when I closed them. it was as if the locking mechanism was not catching. The drivers lock has been replaced now and is working perfectly. Unfortunately the other three doors will now not open. It is as if they have been deadlocked. The central locking system is still working, i.e. the buttons are going up and down and the drivers door is locking. The other three doors will not unlock from outsied, with the key or from the inside. I feel that just general wear and tear is not the answer here as all doors have gone at once. Can anyone shed light on this.

hi there i presumed as you have told us that the back seats don't fold down that you have access to the inside of the car, if this is the case you could remove the backrest of the back seat and fish for the keys throw the holes in the back panel. regard John

drivers door latch is bad
Testimonial: "seems to be the popular opinion"
SOURCE: boot will not open with fob? could it be
It won't be a deadlock issue, I bet my last dollar it will be a latch fault as they are quite common but before spending money it could be a programming error. I would advise getting plugged into something like Bosch KTS or Durametric to view the system for faults.
