Like SJ said, does the engine temp come up quickly? Ten minutes or less driving and you should get warm air.
The LS heater actually has 2 heater cores. If it's a v8 engine,it has an auxiliary water pump which can quit working, and then you get little heat at idle. don-ohio (:^)
Does the engine temperature also take that long to get to operating temp (around 200 F)? If it does, your thermostat may be on its way out. Check your coolant level first.

Sounds like your window assembly has failed or the cable has broken. An easy repair, once the door panel is removed and the assembly disconnected from door.

- If temp guage reads normal, the lack of heat may be due to the Heater Control Valve. Located in front of the radiator. Lower passenger side. A real bugger to replace.
- The plastic cap just over the thermostat is key in re-filling the anti freeze and bleeding air.
