I have a 2000 toyota echo and it a manual transmission, the gears are good from the day i purchase it from the first owner but since than the number 3 & 4 are not working now i don't know what

Toyota echo 2000, gear number 3 & 4 are not working, i need someone to help to me with this please? also it overheating most of the time, but i already change the radiator and the water pump and also the cooling fan please help me.

Transmission is defective. It requires major repair. Better to replace with a good known one.

First thing to do is check the fluid level if that ok you may want to think about having the transmission filter and fluid changed, there are other possibilities but check these first

good day,first of all you may ask the owner if he has the service manual so you can change the last timing belt changed. secondly you may try to check the belt itself if it has some tiny cracks or a little loose or a little worn. hope this helps, have a nice day
