It could be alot of things causing this....But check for a vacuum leak behind the intake manifold. There is a rubber elbow that splits. Could be a Idle air control motor. Good Luck

Why does my 2011 Ford Edge DIE when braking

Sounds like all the vacuum is being taken away from the engine by the brake booster. This would indicate a faulty vacuum valve between the inlet manifold and the booster.

My 1997 Ford F150 Truck,it shudders and dies unless I put it in park at a stop sign? we took it for analysis and they couldn't find the problem,

I have seen this symptom and it is caused by a leaking power brake vacuum booster, when you apply the brakes it creates a huge engine vacuum leak and this causes the engine to run lean and rough and die in some cases. Most likely the shop was looking for an engine issue when it was a brake related problem

1985 Ford Ranger 2.3 starts and idles good. But when put in gear dies until it reaches full temp.

Hmm...........
1985..........
Probably carb? Automatic choke not working? Remove air filter and spray carb with cleaner, Make sure all parts move freely. With engine cold, check automatic choke position. Start and check function as it warms up.

I have a 93 ford explorer which dies during idling (when this happens the dash lights go dim as if draining power and then the vehicle dies). Could this mean I need a new alternator?

Your problem sounds like a poorly working fuel pump. When engine dies alternator is not charging any more so lights may go dim. If o2sensors are bad you would have other problems. First check for fuel starvation. GOOD LUCK FRIEND.

2001 ford explorer, dies after stopping, rpm's drop & stalls also often happens after turning, this car now dies at every stop light. As long as i am driving it drives but if i stop or have t

Check for vacuum leaks.

Have someone feather the gas pedal while you listen carefully to the engine. If the leak is bad enough you'll probable hear it.
More than likely, it's either a vacuum hose or the o-rings under the intake manifold.

Hope this helps!

My 2003 Ford Focus dies when idling after a little road trip.

have the check engine light checked at a parts store its usuall free. I would bet its the idle air control motor. This controls the fuel air mixture at idle

I have been having problems with my 1998 ford windstar 3.8L with rough idle and dying, i changed the mass air flow sensor, and air filter, ran gas treatment through it, and it hasn't helped, then yesterday...

I have a 98 Windstar and it would die when pulling up to a stop sign, slowing when coming to a stop or making a slow turn. According to Ford recall 98E03 EMISSIONS RECALL some vehicles may stall during deceleration when coming to a stop, during slow speed parking maneuvers and/or coasting thru slow sweeping turns. This may be caused by the Powertrain Contro lModule (PCM) calibration dropping the rpms too quickly during deceleration. This involves reprograming the PCM. The revised calibration will allow the engine rpms to drop slowly during low speed maneuvers to reduce the possibility of a stall. Call your local FORD dealership (have your VIN handy) and have them check to see if this recall has been performed on your vehicle.
